What are these bugs living underwater in my ditch

Been scooping bull frog tadpoles with the boys and every net scoop is coming up with these bugs. Kind of hard to see with the pic. About the size of a dime. They are underwater at the bottom of the grass in a ditch that has about 10” of standing water

Hard to tell from the pic, but probably a water bug of some sorts. You can look up water bugs or giant water bugs and start there.

A mutated frog from all the chemicals we pour into our ditches and waterways.

On some of the dragonfly and damselfly nymphs you have to look at the mouthparts to see which species it is. Talk about some alien looking stuff
