I can either buy a Holographic sight and take off my Scope or I can buy that to use up close if needed. Something of this sort...

Unless you do competitions it seems trihard. But thats just my opinion.

I could see that, the reason I was interested in it is because I would like to be able to shoot from more than one perspective. Looking down a scope is fun but it gets boring at times

It's a serious question
I was thinking about taking my scope off and putting on a holographic sight, but if I can just get an offset red dot then hell why not get it??

You thought about canted iron sights?

Ive got the Eotech XPS2-2 with the 3x magnifier as well and I can tell you that the different perspective of being able to flip the magnifier to the side was huge selling point.

I'd go with the offset red dot...never know when your paper target is gonna bum rush you.

Useful if you run a variable power at high power in competition and you need to hit something close. Also useful if you have a long range gun and want to quickly get on target without changing magnification. Besides that It is kinda overkill.

I really like canted iron sights.
In my opinion it is the way to go.
The question is....why not a scope and canted sights. Its a great set up.

I'm a proponent of offset irons for AR10s with higher mag scopes

Never know when that EMP will hit. I'll never understand people putting a red dot on a shtf ar. But that's just me...

I think they're gay and tacticool. But that's just my opinion.

I think a red dot with a flip mount magnifier is a better solution.

Studies are starting to demonstrate that unless the source of the EMP (nuclear blast) is near by, smaller electronics may not be effected. Larger systems like our electrical grid are much easier to effect from further away. Who knows if that theory is true but if you're worried about EMPs keep your sensitive electronics in a faraday cage.

I already paid $500 for a leupold scope, I'd rather use it than not

Just buy a 1-?x variable and you wont need that.
Also, it's "offset", not "canted".
