What do you wear when you go fishing offshore?

Stupid question. I'm a noob to offshore fishing. Looking for tuna. I know it gets messy. Do you wear swim trunks or regular clothing (shorts and a t-shirt)? I'm sure we'll get wet, and I'm worried about catching the chafe. What's most comfortable? TIA

Fishing shorts and my lucky sleeveless calcutta T.

Where a t-shirt around around your head like a balaclava, you'll thank me later. Sunscreen is for pussies, but on another note I find it kind of slippery when you deal with sunscreen and the last thing you want is slippery hands, a wild mahi, and a gaff.

a pair of board shorts / swim suit and a t-shirt, which usually doesnt stay on for long
ETA: for tuna, dont wear anything that you plan on ever wearing in public again
also, I usually wear flip flops or crocs

Shorts and a t shirt is fine. I've started going so much that now I roll long sleeves and one of these;
I had a buddy die of skin cancer and i'm completely paranoid.
Definitely bring a change of clothes, nothing better offshore than a water bottle shower and a fresh shirt.

Bring an entire set of clothes. Shirt shorts and undies. Hell travel size shampoo and body wash is nice too

What mylsuhat said. A little freshwater wash down, bar of soap and fresh shirt is money.

Usually just wear fishing shorts, an old long sleeve T, and a hat or visor.
