It's a Valmet M78/83, in 7.62x39(and I assume with the AK-style curved magazine) for this film, although the 7.62x51 (NATO) chambering seems to have been more commonly used.

Finnish Valmet M78/83S produced in the early 80's. That particular rifle was chambered in 7.62x39, other options were .223 and .308. Same rifle but different hardware was used in Red Dawn

Not sure, but that gun is probably 21".
