Where to Get Best Price on Outboard Motor in Louisiana

Looking to purchase a new outboard motor with the following specs:
40HP
Tiller
20in Shaft
Electric Start
Electric Trim
I've already spoke to Jerry's Marine in Sulphur. I am awaiting a call back from Lake Area Marine in LC. I already spoke to Boat City in Henderson. I'm awaiting a call back from Lafayette Power Sports.
Currently, leading the way is Jerry's Marine as they have a Mercury with what I'm looking for for $5500, but Lake Area Marine carries Tohatsu, and I'm guessing they can beat $5500.
Please recommend a dealer who sales Yamaha, Tohatsu, or Mercury. I'm looking for the best price. Any where in the state, as well as east TX or even south MS.

Boat stuf hands down...any of their locations can help you. The Hammond location is nice as well, ask for Bryce

Jerry's always decent on price, but horrible on service.
Lake Area can quote Tohatsu or Suzuki.
Also where do you live and need service? SWLA area? Point is I'd try to buy from the dealer who will service it. Most should try to price match if pricing is comparable.

I live in Lake Charles, and I have a local guy who can service these three brands.

DHP?
County home and outdoors in Nederland has had some smoking deals on loose outboards before.

Check Landry's in Des Allemands as well.
They have a large selection of used outboards in good shape.

Any other dealerships sell used outboards?

Hummm? Must have changed because Damon did sell loose at one time.
Jaco’s might but shipping and taxes would probably defeat any savings.
Anyway to change out ecm on that merc to pump up hp?

After contacting about 15 different dealers ranging from Orange, TX to Hammond, I decided to go with Lake Area Marine. They beat the closest price for the Tohatsu by about $300 but they also include a 6 gallon gas tank, fuel hose, and stainless steel Powertech prop where others don't include any of that. So that, plus they are actually the closest dealer from my house (like 7 minutes), it was a no brainer.

That's a damn good deal.
ETA; I normally go to Backwoods Landing to look at prices and your guys beat them by a lot.

Better watch that motor and grass, they hate grass and will limp mode like a mutha.
LAS has a yam 25 3 in lake Charles for sale $2,600 that I would jump on before any 4 stroke. 25hp serial and you can pimp with 60 carbs.

I just sold my 25HP Yamaha. I have owned three 4-strokes so far and have not have an issue with any off them. I've fished in a lot of grass with a Tohatsu plenty of times as a friend of mine has a 30HP on his boat, and we have never had an issue. Where I normally fish is loaded with grass, and I'd say more than 50% of the boats I see fishing out there run 4-strokes, most of those are Tohatsu, and everyone who has one recommends them. I'm not worried about being disappointed in my purchase, I was only concerned with getting the best price I could for exactly what I wanted.

If buying mercury, Cajun outboards is where i'd go. cheapest I've found.
for Yamaha try the dealer in Crowley.
for tohatsu I do not know where to go, but I want a new 50 or 60 tohatsu 4 stroke. great motor.
