Actually here in SW Louisiana black vultures & turkey Vultures (buzzards) WILL NOT EAT a dog that's been killed along the road. They will clean up the carcasses by eating any other animal killed along the road but not dog. You have to drag them off the road to get rid of them.

I have never witnessed them eating a dead dog and often wondered myself.

They will flock to fish guts as soon as I dump them in the field behind my place.

Do they eat road kill gators?

I would think the hide on a gator is far too tough for most birds to penetrate unless it is busted open at some point.
