Below are some of the wildlife/nature photos that I took in July.

Almost all of these were taken around Black Bayou Lake NWR while working up in Monroe.
The shrimp boat was taken in Ocean Springs Mississippi.
Two egrets fighting was taken in Big Branch Marsh NWR.
Sunset under the two egrets fighting was in Lacombe, Louisiana.

What camera are you using and what lenses can you recommend? Any info you can provide is most appreciated.

I see cool stuff all the time and I’m tired of not having a good camera.

Thank you

I’m using the Nikon Z8, and for wildlife I typically use the Nikkor 180-600mm lens, landscapes the Nikkor 24-70mm, and I also use the Nikkor 70-200.

I’d decide what subject matter you want to shoot then research cameras. There isn’t much difference between the higher end Nikon, Canon, and Sony cameras, but just remember that once you pick a brand you’re almost stuck with it because of the lenses.

I switched to mirrorless earlier this year and love it. I just traded some of my older gear for the Nikon Z7 II, which will be my landscape camera. I was gonna get a second Z8, but decided to go with something a little less expensive.

I’d you say with the DSLRs instead of mirrorless Nikon has some pretty good deals on them right now, and supposedly has some great deals on the older lenses coming soon.

If you have any questions about anything just let me know. My email is on my website link in original post), so I’d i don’t respond here just email me, and I’ll get back with you.

Great photos as always. You really know how to use the light. It's an area I want to get better at and enjoy learning from what you are doing.
