Wolf Pen Gap ATV Trails--Mena, AR

My wife and I are meeting up with some friends and renting a house around Mena for a few days to ride around the Ouachita National Forest. We'll have 2 SxSs and 3 4 wheelers.
Any recommendations for the area or the ATV Trails out that way?

We stayed at the campground on the pig tail last year.
Download avenza maps.
Warning: don't let your wife navigate.
My wife was supposed to put us only on easy trails. We did only the hardest trails because she misread the map. I'm talking max down slope with 2-3ft drop offs.
In a 2200lb rzr 4 seater built for cruising... It got a little hairy.

Any ATV or water craft should come with this warning

We went last year for the first time and my son and I were going to bring 4 wheelers, but a buddy brought an extra SxS for us to use.
I thought it was just going to be some casual riding, but we climbed some pretty intense, rocky, steep trails. I'm glad we weren't on 4 wheelers.
We did see quite a few deer, a couple roadrunners, and a bear which was pretty cool.

That's where we go to ride dirt bikes. Has some super challenging trails but also some you can really get after it. I love it there.
The trails there can get pretty dusty if it hasn't rained so hopefully your SxS has a window
There are actually some cool spots on the trails where you can stop and jump in the water if you want to.

Thanks for the responses. Do they monitor alcohol on the trails pretty hard?

Bethesda pointe is where we stayed. They have 4-5 new houses/cabins on some acreage. Pond with fish, hot tubs etc. Riding distance from the trails. Really nice place.

I saw zero cops on 160 miles of riding.
I got pulled over running 70 on a state highway going back to camp.

I have GBC Dirt Commanders on. Roll with those or my Tusk Terrabites?

I do t know either of those, but the worst conditions you will encounter is some loose rock. A LOT of your miles will be gravel road.
Plan your rides around stopping to swim at the multiple waterfalls. It’s a beautiful part of the world, but the trails aren’t challenging.

I'd say the dirt commanders.
The terrabites are a little hard if memory serves right.
But we encountered all of 75 feet off mud.
I never appreciated rockabillies until we went up north. Didn't slip even once.

We do Moab once a year. I didn't do any hill climbs that rival out there. But I did some descents that were easily pucker factor.

The Terrabites were great in Moab on that sandy rock stuff but they're no good in ANY mud.
My wife will be in the SxS with one of her friends. I'll be on my Kodiak 700.

Download Maprika app or Avenza and get the wolfpen OMTAC map. This map will have every POI in the area and all the legal trails. Plan on making the trip to Little Missouri Falls, Sugar Creek Vista, Highpoint, and Eagle Mt. There is a newer place called Thibodeaux's that has good food as well as Big Fork store.
Wolfpen used to be pretty rough but I'd say 90% is now easy terrain so I would have no concerns with the 4 wheelers. They do patrol and if you are found with alcohol its a pretty hefty fine, save that for the cabin.
I would expect dusty conditions so bring goggles and bandanas to help with the dust.
