Howdy. Looking to buy an Xpress boat. Being my first boat, I am not sure what boat dealers are willing to come down, nor what a good price is.

I know that the Xpress dealer in Crowley is the one to go see. I went and saw Boats Unlimited today to get a base on pricing.

They gave me the following prices:
H20 115 Yamaha SHO Max, Red Fish package, Saltwater package, basic electronics, 70# trolling motor, trailer $25,900

H18 90 Yamaha F90, Red Fish package, Saltwater package, basic electronics, 70# trolling motor, trailer $23,900

How are these prices? I did not negotiate them at all, that is just what they threw out there.

Had an xpress for close to 10 years was a great rig, haven't priced them in a while so I can't say much about the price, but I would upgrade the TM's on either one of those boats.

1 negative to tin is they are lite and get pushed around pretty good in just about any wind, so TM will get a lot of use

I said that they are 70#, but honestly do not remember. I knew that I was coming right back here for advice, but still forgot what exact size they were.

I am leaning towards the 20' with the 115. I thought that the Yamaha F series was the newest greatest thing, but the sales guy said the SHO Max had better low end and the same good fuel efficiency. I just have no idea what a good price is.

I wanna say that's almost the same price I paid Boats Unlimited for my 2013 H18 Bay. They beat the pants off of Bent Marine in Metairie.

Spend the extra 2 grand and get the 20. Trust me. They use the same console in both, so the 20 gets you more room between the console and the front deck, as well as an additional 12 gallons of fuel capacity

The fuel capacity, extra room, larger motor, and 4 persons vs 8 is why I am leaning towards the 20. However, a 18 with a 115 (upgrade) sounds like a lot of fun too.

I heard that Bent and BU were close in price. However, C&Ms or something along those lines in Crowley is the place to go. I will research further after I get a full idea of what a good price is.

Put the 150 sho on the H20. Had that set up on mine and it ran.

The H20 for sure if you can swing it.

I disagree on the trolling motor. While I agree more trolling motor is always better the 70# thrust should be plenty fine for those rigs.

The boat will do fine with the 115 but will fly with the 150. Just don't think you have to put a 150 on it.

I had the h20 and just sold it. They are all the same in price within a couple hundred. Great boat, I just never used it. That 115 and the 70 trolling motor are fine. Run straight gas-no ethanol.

I have no idea if I will use a boat or not, I dont have one to test.

I looked up the MRSP on the SHO Max. The 150 is 5k more than the 115. I know dealer cost will be less, but thats a good chunk of change. The 115SHO Max is already a souped up 115.

I just sold my 2013 h20b. Had the f-115 with 10" hydro jackplate. 82lb 24v trolling motor. Came with the 70 but 82 made life easier.
I will tell you now that you won't be happy with the 115. Sho or not. A sho only gives 3-4mph more top end.
After lots of props and seat time the 115 settled in at 45 mph at 6000rpms. Very weight sensitive. With no jackplate and the powertec prop I only got 40mph at 6000 rpms.
The 150 will carry a load of 4 people much better and see mid 50s wide open. Your cruise speeds will be much better.
You will need a jackplate. No way around it. Xpress likes lots of set back and motor will be too low from factory. Also, throw away the powertec prop it will come with. Yamaha pro series 19" or merc trophy 19" will be what you need. If you go 150 those two will work but a tempest will be good too.
I knew that boat in and out. If you need answers let me know. Also bought it from boats unlimited.

That's my biggest problem with them.

4"-3.35" below pad is where they like to run depending on the load and prop. Amount of setback will change this slightly but 8-12" of set back will need these motor heights

With the 115 I was always running 6000 rpms to get a good cruising speed. 4500 rpms would get me 38mph and the boat wouldn't be on pad. The 150s weight and power will hold the boat on pad. at lower speed. They only put a 115 to get a lower price point.

I will email you, soon as I figure out what all youre talking about. I understand the basics, but am reading your thread now. I will also check and see what the upcharge for the 150 will be. It will almost certainly put the package out of my price range.

At the time the 150 was too much for me but from the first time on the water I could tell that there was a lot more that boat could offer. If possible do it. I'm going pick up my new boat tomorrow. I went for the 200 over the 150 it comes with bc the 150 would give me the same performance as the H20B and the 115. I couldn't do it twice haha.

I've had the h20 bay with the 115 and 70# motors for a few weeks now. I like the setup and both motors have enough power.
Paid 15k for a 2014 model, but it needed a couple things to fix.

Overall they are good for the price.
