Zero Turn's: SCAG vs........

Been looking at residential use zero turn mowers (48" deck) in the ballpark of $3500 to $4500. Can get entry level SCAG for $4,399 but a lot of others closer to 4K....Hustler Raptor SD/Big Dog Alpha MP, Snapper Pro S40, etc. Most have the same Kawasaki motor in it and same or similar transmission.
Worth it to go SCAG?
Only talking 3/4 acre. Lot of these models listed are residential but have good many commercial level features as far as heavier deck, larger wheels, etc.

I have a 60" Big Dog Alpha MP and love it. It also has the Kawasaki in it.
I can do my acre lot in 30 minutes front and back yards. The seat is extremely comfortable and it has a fabricated deck over a stamped deck.
Also the lights seem a bit gimicky at first, but I have found them useful when I had to cut my yard a few times earlier this year after work in low light.
ETA: They also offer 0% 4 year financing on it which is nice if you don't have cash at the moment.

I am on 1 acre and went through this last year. I went with the Snapper and have no complaints. However, I did get the Snapper with the B&S engine. It was $200-$500 cheaper. I know how to work on a B&S engine.
I got it at First Turn in Scott, La. Great people over there.

I bought a commerical SCAG Tiger Cub 48" demo model 19 yrs ago. It's been rock solid. Change the oil each spring, and sharpen the blades.. I always grease the fittings every other time I use it. I did have the engine cylinders bored and resleeved 2 yrs ago for $400. It still runs great and starts right up. I'm cutting an acre, so I only use it for about 45-50 min. per week. Hope this helps.

That's like pulling a bass boat with an 18 wheeler.

My one gripe on the Scag is by paying that much you get the overbuilt features (though the others listed are nearly the same) but then it comes with the worst seat of all of them. Come on! Not cushy like the others, and no arm rests, but they can be added as an option.....of course for more money.

make sure what ever you buy has a welded deck and not a stamped deck. SCAG has issues with their hydraulic steering pumps/motors. If your more dominate with one hand than the other when turning. Its gonna give you fits

My Scag is 12 years old. I put it through absolute hell. 6700 hours on it and still running like a champion

I have a 48" SCAG Liberty Z. It's a great mower. It was between it and a comparable Exmark. The Liberty Z looked better to me. But there are so many other Z Turn mowers out there you can go in many directions. Mine has a Kohler engine.

Many thanks for all the replies. The stamped deck matter is a good point but most of the residential/commercial "hybrid" models I mentioned have welded decks these days. Looks like most of the major brands are offering these beefed up residential models. Alpha MP, Raptor SD, Snapper Pro, etc.
Hustler and Big Dog are under same ownership, made at same place, paint is said to be main difference with BD offering few more bells and whistles for little more money. The seats are comfy for sure.
Edit: as an indicator of my level of use, I've got but 55 hours on my law tractor bought July 2014. Maybe I just like to mow fast

I got it for the same price as the 48" deck. Gotta love end of the year inventory sales.

All come with the same hydro drive trasmission. Perhaps different model hydro drives however!

I have a 61” cheetah for my 3 acre lot.
No problems thus far. Although the “high speed” mode is dumb. Ain’t nobody mowing anything at 15 mph
