Boiled crawfish or boiled crabs? Which do you prefer?

I love them both but sure do love some boiled crabs.

Not that there's anything wrong with boiled crabs either.

crawfish, crabs are good but it just takes longer to get to the meat than the pinch & twist of a crawfish! Both are damn fine though!

Crawfish make for a better party, no doubt.

Crawfish.

I love crabs, but they're too much work.

This is my order too. I would also put oysters above crawfish, if given the choice.

It's not that I don't like crawfish, I just like the others more.

When I was a kid there were no farm raised crawfish. We ate with the seasons which is pretty much how I do it now.

Mid March - end of June = Crawfish

June - September or so = crab

September through the fall and winter = oysters

and shrimp anytime available in between.

I look forward to and have a fondness for all at the proper time.

Rarely do I eat crawfish before late March.

Beginning of June (a bit earlier this year) fresh homegrown tomatos and what else is coming out of the garden

Mid June sweet corn and watermelons

February is Pontchatoula strawberries

Fall into winter root vegetables, lettuce and cabbages

What's crazy, is after spending the first 30 years of my life in La, it took moving to South Carolina to truly discover oysters beyond eating them raw or fried.

We have oyster "roasts" here quite a bit. They are really steamed, not roasted.. but man... I love 'em. There was bar here during football season, with all you could eat, buckets of fresh steamed oysters, every Sunday. I hung out there and watched the Saints all season and gorged on these.

The meat of a properly boiled blue crab is about the best thing on the planet. Give me a butter knife and let me go to town. Love picking crabs.

Crabs no question, but they are just so labor intensive.

Oh hell tough call.

This is like the Blonde/Brunette/Redhead debate.

I still just enjoy doing the research on which one I like best.

I enjoy the crabs more for actual food consumption but I enjoy crawfish for the experience. Nothing better than a sunday afternoon crawfish boil with 15 friends.

Why do you sit for crabs, but stand for crawfish?

I prefer crabs.
