To be fair, If you do deal with a federal, state or local gov't and find an older black lady who does a really good job, you absolutely never lose her contact. She probably hates her coworkers as much as you do and she can cut through red tape or circumvent the system to help you out. I don't want to say what agency but I have gotten around having to use a lawyer or write several letters in order to get rid of fines in the 10s of thousands. You play your cards right and she can fix a major problem in a second that she really shouldn't do.

She knows where the bodies are buried and who to forward your call to for help and who to send you to if they want you to be miserable. They may have gotten some override on their computer to circumvent something ten years ago and IT never took it back. You just have to be observant and note who the complete frick up is and that one person who knows what they are doing. And you can always reap the rewards of an older black lady who uses her IDGAF attitude for good and knows they are not going to fire her

Whatever number you want to make up. That would be consistent with this thread.

That's part of what I was trying to get at. "The government" is a pretty broad term.

Local, state, federal. Not that broad.

Include NGO's funded by the government, it's probably 80 percent.

Are they including school teachers

I would love to see a statistic on the number of black women teaching in elementary school who are also obese. I'd put it at 80%.

If you read the Grok breakdown on the last page, you have to be pretty liberal with the inclusion of NGOs to get anywhere close to 65%

SFP, it's bad for my PoliBoard health to agree with you, but actually reading the tweet and its "support," gets you to this gem of hard data....

"Let’s run some numbers. If we take the 5 million Black women with bachelor’s degrees or higher as our base, and ASSUME (emphasis added) that 40% to 50% of them work in government at any level ...."

I'd bet an even higher % of them have a degree in something that ends in the word "Studies."

It also said "with bachelor's degrees and above" when the original post just said "college educated" which would include associates degrees.

I also don't believe this information exists in any accurate format, so both sides of this discussion are probably wrong.

I think we can all agree that they are overrepresented by a significant degree.

THIS I can get behind. Ginned up statistics distract from the discussion.

Who said anything about requiring?

Plenty of college graduates have jobs that don't require college degrees.

I believe black women are wildly overrepresented in government jobs.

I do not believe 65% of black women with a degree with for the government.

Good.
It’s not like getting rid of black women in government jobs is gonna cost Republicans votes. That 62% is gonna vote black and democrat 99.9% of the time anyway
