He was if you match each line to a Pope.

The people who buy into this have to go back and say Peter the Roman doesn't have to be the one after Glory of Olives, and there's an indefinite gap.

Yep that is the word by scholars now. The wording left open a gap between Benedict and Peter the Roman.
This prophecy was printed in 1587. It was really good in predicting the Popes prior to it being printed.

There's no way they'll take 2 years to pick the next pope, so I guess this next guy won't be long for this world.

Jesus is coming back. That’s all the information given. Even Jesus doesn’t know when, only the Father as said in the Bible

Tell that to Peter whom Jesus gave the keys and the disciples.

If not for Popes Christianity wouldn’t exist today.

Pope Francis' sudden death has thrown the spotlight back on a 900-year-old prophetic manuscript. The 12th-century ‘Prophecy of the Popes’ — reportedly uncovered in the Vatican’s secret archives — claims to predict the identity of Francis’ successor and even foretells the return of Christ. The document contains a series of cryptic Latin phrases, each believed to describe a pope, starting with Celestine II in 1143 and ending with ‘Peter the Roman’ in 2027. Fanning the flames is the eerie fact that there are currently nine frontrunners to succeed Pope Francis — and three of them are named Peter.

I guess these prophecies just ignore the scriptures.

Matthew 25:13

quote:

Therefore, stay awake, for you know neither the day nor the hour.

we don't know the hour nor the day yet the world will end in 2027.

Personally I'll go to confession this week because it's divine mercy Sunday coming up and there is an indulgence connected to that Sunday.

I try to always be prepared for death, which I'm not good at, but because I don't know the hour or day, I want to be always ready.

except the person who "found" it said the person he wanted was supposed to be the next Pope after it was "found" - did not happen

Also a lot of the lines are a stretch just like Nostradamus

Pray to Jesus?
quote:

Just pray to Jesus

That is not even what Jesus said

quote:

9 “This, then, is how you should pray:

“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,[a]
but deliver us from the evil one

It's been over 2 thousand years. How many more will it be? 2, 4, 6 thousand more?

Who was predicting the day and the hour?

I believe he’s referring to the quote in op.

The man was 88 years old and has been sick for a while. Wouldn’t really call this a “sudden death”.
