As much as they're personal friends and worked together for a number of years before the administration. Hell just read the press releases when they got hired and it goes into their backgrounds.

Kasper reports directly to Hegseth. Hegseth ordered Kasper to look into the leaks.

Not at all. The President alone appoints over 4,000 people. Factor in all of the agency heads and their huge staffs. There are bound to be bad apples, impossible to vet everyone thoroughly

If they leaked and it can be proven, then this is totally justified, but I'm extremely hesitant to jump to any conclusions given the amount of cockroaches throughout DC.

That means he is not wasting time dancing around the issue when he sees a mistake was made.
He is eliminating the problem when it happens, and I would rather see that happen than him be too prideful to admit he made a bad hire and shitcan them immediately.
