Trump Gets Called Out in Front of Millions at Pope’s Funeral

However it was Trump’s signature first term policy of building a border wall that appeared to draw papal ire in the funeral eulogy. The policy was much criticized by Francis in his lifetime, and Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re, who delivered the homily, made sure that the late Pope’s hostility to the policy was not forgotten. Re said: “Pope Francis incessantly raised his voice imploring peace and calling for reason and honest negotiation to find possible solutions... ‘Build bridges, not walls,’ was an exhortation he repeated many times.”

Trump and Francis had clashed repeatedly over the years, beginning in early 2016 when Francis criticized Trump’s plan to build a border wall, saying that anyone who thought only of building walls and not bridges “is not Christian.”

So let me get this straight, every other country on Earth has borders and strict immigration policies but the United States is not allowed to protect its borders.

Does the Vatican have borders and use any measures to protect their citizens and the papacy? Let’s take a look…..

Physical Barriers
• The Leonine Wall, built in the 9th century, still surrounds much of Vatican City. It’s about 39 feet high in places, but not modern fortification.
• There are a few vehicle entrances and pedestrian access points, especially at St. Peter’s Square, which is wide open to the city of Rome.
• There is no “border fence” in the traditional sense around the entire perimeter — in many areas, you can simply walk up to the walls.

Security Forces
• Swiss Guard: About 135 soldiers. Their main duty is the personal protection of the Pope and the Apostolic Palace. While they’re ceremonial in appearance, they are trained soldiers.
• Corpo della Gendarmeria Vaticana (Vatican Gendarmerie): Vatican City’s police force. They handle day-to-day security, law enforcement, crowd control, and surveillance.
• Italian Police Cooperation: Italy provides external security and protects the outer border area as per agreements with the Holy See.
• There is extensive surveillance including cameras, plainclothes agents, and metal detectors at key entry points (especially St. Peter’s Basilica and museums).

Access Control
• General tourist areas are open (like St. Peter’s Basilica and the Vatican Museums).
• The Apostolic Palace, Gardens, and Archives require special permission or are off-limits to the general public.
• For non-public zones, entry is strictly controlled via passes and security screening.

Okay! Got it. “ What’s good for thee is not always good for me.”

The Catholic Church was well funded by USAID so they hate anything Trump says or does.

The same root idea that they are trying to pin on Trump/USA regarding tariffs - everyone else in the world is allowed to have exorbitant tariff gouging EXCEPT the USA, who is expected to reside in an unleveraged, un-advantaged position.

In fact, this is the core of what President Trump is correcting.

I support him - best thing that America could experience post, post-WW2 era with all of the hypocrisy and lack of dependable allies and backstabbing "greatest allies" attackers/usurper evil.

Sounds like a natural ally of today’s Democratic Party.
