Nothing more than attempt at self preservation. They simply are surrendering for the time being, by suspending their Marxist objectives. Make no mistake, they will do it again if that organization is still standing when democrats get in the white house again.

That's a helluva shot across the bow. Likely they'll be hitting the streets as soon as it warms up.
I have very smart and talented friends who believe this whole wrecking and ground-up reformation of the System is insanity and will cause massive dysfunction, collapse and pain. Maybe it will at some point, but I suspect that it would have happened no matter which Political Ideology power base held the formal reigns in DC.
So strange that some see prosperity in the making while others see disaster. All in the eye of the beholder, until subjective reality becomes common. "Eyes that cannot see and ears that cannot hear...".
It's coming. And will be big.

Penalty should be:
1. Any school refusing to stop DEI loses funding for 1 year.
2. Any school intentionally hiding/renaming DEI programs to continue undetected loses funding for a period of 5 years.

Why stop there? Put criminal sanctions in and threaten long jail terms.
Seriously tho, Rs need to win HUGELY in the midterms with filibuster proof majorities in senate and house and put in to law getting rid of the DOE and ALL DEI initiatives or Dems will just bring it back if/when they ever get control
