Metcalf's father is a brainwashed progressive and a weak man. His idea of passivity will not accomplish what he thinks. To allow the racist blacks to spew thier lies and propaganda only strengthens thier false position. It must be countered with truth, which unfortunately this white father doesn't have the will to offer.

I cannot comprehend being more upset at someone speaking truth than the black kid who murdered your son. Not only did he murder your son, his allies and family have painted your family as white supremacists while they live in a house at least 75% of white Americans couldn't afford. This is a degree of cuckoldry and self-loathing that, if done at a macro-level, may as well be cultural suicide.

Well, he had damn well better get strong, because he has entered the political arena as a front and center activist, in a polar dog fight.
