The guy would have committed this carnage regardless of what the city had done.
There's one person to blame, the guy who drove the truck. NO is a shite show, but 100% of the blame here goes to the driver who would have found a road with people regardless of setup.
I don't disagree. I was just commenting on Bourbon Street in particular. There's nothing that can be done to prevent someone from driving their vehicle onto sidewalks everywhere.
There does need to be increased protections though for areas with a high volume of congested pedestrian traffic.

Sir, just because the Left, and the Media, and the Government, and the Right, and everyone else has a narrative, doesn't mean that adults on a message board can't have civil, intelligent conversations without having to make everything a Left vs Right narrative.
Or maybe it does mean that.
Perhaps I should make myself a bit more clear and choose my words better.
Does a government and media who both have a left leaning policy and angle on everything which goes on not have a major hand in this?
When you are in control of government and leave borders open, put most of your effort into prosecuting law abiding citizens i.e. Jan 6 political prisoners, and constantly spin dangerous rhetoric throughout the media "hate crime, radicalized white nationalist Christians, etc" they certainly do have a hand in these situations and are not off limits to needing to be addressed but carry on and continue with your assesment of me as bringing unintelligent conversation with a narrative.

I was thinking the same thing. I wonder how long he had been in the area to see how the police handled blocking the roadways.

Maybe. I havent been there for a decade but here we have massive downtown congestion in tour season, and I dont see how you totally protect people.
Its a never ending blame game.

The saddest thing is that no one trusts most especially the FBI. Even Kennedy said so much without saying it.
There are stories that millions disappeared/used for other things more cosmetic intended for the barriers.
But something like this placed on both ends, combined with the hydrants and balcony support poles would have prevented this horrid tragedy?
Also: CBS News did almost a commercial hyping NOLA tourism. This is all fine but how about barriers? It is convoluted and crazy.

I doubt he would have tried to drive down a street he couldn’t. Soft target. Just like knowing that teachers are unarmed.

Kind of like the pumps when it rains. Is there anything in New Orleans that works like it's supposed to?

You even quoted him directly before misquoting him in your reply.

You appear to have issues with reading comprehension.

So, you don't think he would've driven around them like he did the cop car?

Not cast any prejudice on the media, but you have 2 Louisiana natives that run CBS News.
You have David Begnaud a Lafayette native and Wendy McMahon at the top. The Advocate did a write up on David coming to Louisiana for a few stories. Here is an excerpt.
quote:
Like Begnaud, Wendy McMahon, president and CEO of CBS News and Stations and CBS Media Ventures, is also a Louisiana native. McMahon is originally from New Orleans and an LSU alum. CBS describes part of McMahon's responsibilities as leading "the division's mission to reshape television for evolving audiences and for multiple screens."

... this whole thing , including Teedy being In office, is a planned war to take over the city of New Orleans. It's been going on for years. Force the University to move campus to somewhere upstate New York, take over the campus. Then establishing a headquarters in the campus area.
It's been planned for years.

So the plan from the terrorist(s) was to get people moving down Bourbon towards the IEDs and then detonate. Thankfully they didn’t go off.
Honestly though, what is the prevention against people just setting up IEDs and then exploding them? Bomb sniffing dogs? Were they out and about? Sounds like the IEDs were in ice chests. Someone wheeling an ice chest down Bourbon wouldn’t be all that conspicuous.

Why bother locking the door to your house or car then?
They did lock the door. He went in through the window.
Psychopaths looking to murder are going to find a way to do so. Pretending the city did something wrong because they didn’t actively prevent the specific scenario this psycho chose is just stupidity.

Interesting. It was rather strange to see such marketing for tourism at this juncture.

Friend, I appreciate you taking your time to express yourself clearly. It makes conversation much more productive when specific point of views are clearly understood (and arguably, even makes us evaluate our own views when we define them.)
I agree with a lot of your words, but not the key point, which is what in my opinion, this board misses more often than not.
The narrative is Left versus Right. And it does exist in many discussions, but I would argue that it is more of a distraction than the problem.
The true problem is The Establishment that is running this country. Much of The Establishment is "Left", but just as much of it is "Right".
Put simply, The Establishment is a money laundering operation that performs Political Theater. The money that they're laundering is our tax payer dollars AND along with that is the power that gives them to borrow our kids' future dollars.
They LOVE distractions such as NOLA deaths, natural disasters, borders, racism, sexism, etc. As you and I argue about Right/Left, they continue their fleecing of all of us.
The few that stand up for us (like Thomas Massey) and 2016 DJT need to be duplicated. The rest need to be challenged for their votes, no matter the capital letter behind their name.
I appreciate your time if you read this.

Park vehicles there and leave maybe just enough space for people to walk through. Place cops there and I think you at least force him to drive through the cop cars. I think that would have done the job.
