California teachers union kills bipartisan bill establishing phonic-based reforms

These are the same reforms that are paying off big time in other states. The teacher union bribed enough senators in state senate to kill the bill, citing the time and hours it would take for teachers to learn the system.
Clicking the link will provide you article in 2nd tweet, but it is behind paywall.
Congrats, 4cubbies, these are your people!!

Small government conservatives are outraged that the state didn’t mandate the specific curriculum that must be taught in schools across the state? Ya don’t say…

CA education system is a disaster

I don’t know your views on other issues, but on the issue of k-12 education, you are among the most disgraceful human beings I have ever come across.
I don’t believe for a second that you aren’t a retired public school teacher and union member.
It’s the only thing explanation for your ideology

Whataboutism confusing small government with no government, all to avoid the reality of the failed policies she promotes.
I'd have to honestly try to create a bigger fail post than this.

Um, it's literally the state's job to set the curriculum for public schools.

Agreed, she was happy to be a pro-porn access advocate for school libraries just because the LGBTQRSTUV club wanted someone to read their shitty little books.

It’s literally based on brain research, which is why it’s called “The Science of Reading.” So is yours the party of science or not?

“We don’t have time to learn how to teach your kids to read.”
“We also need more funding for teach kids how to be tranny.”

Commies don’t want kids to learn how to read.

As a proud union member in the private sector, government unions are a cancer.

Are you pretending the state is not currently mandating curriculum standards in California?

This isn't true... is it? Please tell me it's not.
I say this without reservation... people that want to put porn in schools for little kids to see because it pushes some sick agenda they have.... well... can we shoot them (just to get their attention... like in the arm or the knee)? If not... can we at least put them all in camp somewhere so they can't infect our kids with their sick, depraved mentality?

She said it wasn't happening, then when I finally got her to admit that it was happening, instead of being against it, she cattily replied something akin to "books never turned anyone gay" (essentially, don't be scared, if your straight child sees gay porn they'll still be straight) and stopped responding further.
I lost what little respect I had for her at that point.

What did I “whatabout” about?
Did you bother to see what reading curriculum is currently being taught in various school districts in California? Most have already implemented the science of reading.
But go off. Own the libs.

State legislatures do not decide what curriculum is taught in each school. Not even close.
