Called it on Odessa

There are reports that a Russian amphibious assault force has left the Crimea heading west most probably .... most definitely for Odessa. Odessa is the key to the endgame for Ukraine. It's also very close to the Romanian border. Thursday morning ....in a few hours.

I expect the Russian navy will insist on playing a role in the war, but I don’t see the purpose of an amphibious assault.

If Russia is that dumb to show, here we are and there we are going, by boats, to storm a beach like D-Day in 2022? They are frickn idiots. Can a General take a dump and not have it on the Fake News Scroll at the bottom of your screen?

Look at a map and its proximity to Romania. I'm guessing there is a lot of supply moving through that area. You take Odessa, link up with the Russians in Moldova and you cut off that supply line by land and sea.

Based on the title, I thought Midland, Tx would have to defend against the Russian hoard.

Yep, actually surprised they have taken this long. It stops any resupply by sea.

I don't see them taking Odessa without a lot of casualties. They've been getting ready for that beach landing all week.

Moldova pissed Ukraine doesn't allow them access to the Black Sea. They are landlocked because Ukraine cut them off.

There's probably more going on. Have the Russians neutralized Kherson to the east? If so, then the Russians land Southwest order in troops from Moldova and put the squeeze on.

Everyone in power knew the Black Sea coast was an objective from the day this started. There is nothing Zelenski can do about it.

You are telling us that in 2022 with the high-tech weaponry of all sides, Russia gonna pull a D-Day and everyone knows they are coming?
Must be Ukrainian conscripts going to die vs Ukrainians as otherwise there is no logic here.
Do you recall Stormin' Norman had Saddam convinced we were doing an amphibious landing in Kuwait like D-Day or the Pacific? And all of those Iraqi's were caught behind enemy lines when we came from the West? Casualties would have been horrible for us despite us kicking their arse everywhere else.
