Then it is both a democracy and a republic

And it is a distinction that is absolutely critical in making our system of government work.

Only if you make illogical leaps to define democracy in one specific way, which is stupid and the heart of the idiocy behind the talking point.

The Left doesn’t understand that we are a republic. The right understands that we are both.

Now who are the idiots

So how is saying we are a republic a “conspiracy theory”?

during the constitutional convention there sure as shite no mention of our system of government being a democracy.

democracy is just commie gobble dee asian for, we want high population centers to control its colonies from two coastal cities. that right there is pure tyranny. guess the founders were very aware of the fact. the original 13 colonies were vast areas of land and in order to populate it they wanted everyone to be represented.

what so funny about this thread? other than the fact that you've been proven to be wrong, as usual.

Dude, you have been in this thread for 12 hours today.

What are you trying to prove? Since this morning I have lived a full day with work, play and fine dining. Yet, I come back to my favorite site and here you are.

You must live the most boring and lack of a fulfilled life of anyone on this board. Not everyone is going to believe like you, right or wrong. Get over it and quite being so damned self-righteous.

So have I

I've done work, cleaned my office, went grocery shopping, made lunch, watched some stupid TV, scanned in all my bills, did my personal accounting, started packing for vacation, did some laundry, cooked dinner, etc.

That's not counting the daily chores like dishes, feeding/walking dogs, etc.

They wanted a nation of laws, not men. They didn’t want people’s rights voted away. In a Democracy we could vote away your rights. In a Republic they are constitutionally protected.

Yeah they don’t understand this.

Hey SFP, how did you vote on the repeal of Roe v. Wade?

How did you vote on the Keystone Pipeline shutdown?

How did you vote on opening the border?

This is a retarded talking point. Aristotle defined democracy as the rule of many. We are organized as a democratic republic because the many have input on how the government is run.

Of course, in reality, we are an oligarchy (the rule of a few).

This appears to be true. It is democratic, it is a Republic.

It's no conspiracy to call it by it's proper name, a Republic which most closely defines us.

Where did I say we were only a democracy? You're describing the function of the Republican aspects of our system.

How did you vote on opening the border?

Where did I say that we don't have aspects of republic?

hope you've never voted, then

Why?

I have voted in my democratic home state that belongs to our Constitutional Republic and sends its votes to the Electoral College many times. Was I not supposed to do that?

If you wanted to support your previous point, you were, in fact, not supposed to do that.
