Forbes: Silicon Valley’s Military Drone Companies Have A Serious ‘Made In China’ Problem

Biden will go down as the Worst President in US History. Between letting 15 million illegals into the country and not addressing the China problem he was a disaster
"Pentagon leaders are calling for thousands of drones to prepare for war in the Pacific. But as Trump’s tariffs escalate tensions with China, they face an uncomfortable reality: Silicon Valley’s drone companies are addicted to Chinese components.
China currently controls close to 90 percent of the global commercial drone market, and manufactures most of the key hardware used to build them – airframes, batteries, radios, cameras and screens, according to market research firm Drone Industry Insights UG. Because of its longstanding reliance on these parts, the U.S. is years behind building the manufacturing infrastructure that could come close to rivaling China’s. “We are almost completely reliant on our major adversary for them, and our ability to make them,” said Josh Steinman, who previously oversaw supply chain security at the National Security Council."

If the majority of Americans didn't learn the vulnerability of the US to foreign imports during the Covid Hysteria lockdowns .......well, they're just dumb.

Man, between their "AI dominance", their EVs, now this - China is just fricking awesome I guess.

Gingrich wrote about this in 2020 in a book I read.
We’ve given China access to key military functions and rely on their cameras with drone technology.
If there was ever a war, they could seriously take control of our stuff.

Which is the reason Trump is doing what he's doing.... some folks are so dumb and ate up with TDS, they can't recognize this must be done and there's no easy way to accomplish it.

Stunning the position we put ourselves in. All in the name of the ability to wring a few more bucks off of it.
Something comes to mind about the commies old saying ….the capitalists will sell us (or in some cases “buy”) the very rope we will hang them with.

They have no obligation to you. The "capitalists" are dealing with the same thing the consumer is dealing with, bloated American labor and regulatory environment.

I saw someone in the drone industry speaking about how this happened. Part was cheap supply, but another, a big issue was the regulation of domestic manufacturers, with little oversight on imports.

Citizen CCP said China would gladly supply us with all needed components to defend ourselves against China. Was he wrong?

True. Our regulatory environment is not conducive to business creation. China has its own regulatory issues, but theyre a bit different than ours.
Regulations are more barriers to entry and protect existing industry/big business over entrepreneurs. Its cheaper and more efficient for the little guy to buy from established offshore companies
Until this gets fixed, you can tariff the shite out of people and you'll still continue having the same problem.

The story/history about Magnequench is infuriating.

I reference an old communist saying about taking advantage of the greed of a capitalist and that was your retort…
Perhaps the easiest point I’ve ever made on this board.
Thank you for providing the example to emphasize that point Roger.

Because people such as these communists think society and all of its elements owes them because they refuse to do for themselves.
It doesnt. The US wasnt built to be a welfare state, it was meant to provide individual opportunity. Its up to you to grap that opportunity, its not the govts job.

Yet you think the wealthy should pay taxes when they die. You are all talk. You’re just another welfare queen. You didn’t seize the individual opportunity you prattle on about. You want other people’s money given to you.

This is a big issue, how can we intimidate a country that makes everything we need to be a super power.

I think they produce about 10 times the steel we do, so to call a non threat is simply having your head in the sand.
Remember WW2 we out built everyone in the world. It is the reason we won.

Well, when u send unlimited funds and unequal trade balance persists, that country will build whatever you want

It's quite the conundrum. Big gov't/business will have to decide between their greed with cheap manufacturing or the desired destruction of the middle class by sending jobs to communist China.
