re: Frontrunner to become the next Catholic Pope

This kind of thing is the most common situation. Francis was pope for 12 years. There's a lot of turnover at the top over that length of time. Benedict was pope for only 8 years, so he didn't get to do a full turnover prior to his (unusual) resignation. But John Paul II was pope for 26 years. He likely appointed every Cardinal who voted on his successor.
Great post.

Cardinal Sarah is a dream pick, but it won't happen.
1) Too conservative
2) Too old. I believe he's 80.

Those African Cardinals are some of the most based Believers on earth.

It's hard to believe that Francis was the first pope from South America.
Not really.
For centuries the papacy was confined to Europe. Mostly Italy.
Some might argue the first election of a pope born or raised outside of Europe in centuries was a disaster. Obviously the history of the papacy is WELL beyond my lifetime, but I can't remember a more divisive pope among Catholics in my lifetime.

They usually pick a new pope from within the College of Cardinals and you can’t be in the College if you’re over 80.
Yes you can, there is no age limit, you just can't vote if you are older than 80

I'm not Catholic, so I will not opine on church polity, but I did see that 108 of the 125 cardinals that will elect the next pope were appointed by Pope Francis.
It's been reported that Francis would appoint Cardinals willy nilly. Some have said he made appointments after meeting a Priest only briefly because he liked them. Sounds like Biden

It would be somewhat amusing to see western leftist, many of whom don't even believe in God, let alone Catholicism, gleefully celebrate the election of a black, African born Pope as "progress"...only to quickly come to learn he may be the most "conservative" of all of the potential choices.

That would be a dream selection.
The next Pope will need to unite the Orthodox Catholics and the Roman Catholic Church. Settle the differences and become a united front is addressing the growing issue of Islamic expansion into Christian lands.
Supporting and defending all Christian’s in Islamic land and growing the Catholicism. We have strayed to far from the foundational teachings.

i said a couple of months ago that 1) the pope would die easy prediction he was the same age as my dad, who died of the same underlying conditions, lungs basically copd.
and i said 2) that the african and indian cardinals would throw their support behind a conservative Italian and we'd get another Italian pope.

Robert Prevost has been mentioned. Used to be the Generalisimo of the Augustinians. Got promoted to lead the Pontifical Mission to Latin America.
The longest of long shots

All but two of them: William Baum (Major Penetentiary emeritus) and Joseph Ratzinger (Prefect of CDF), who were both appointed by Paul VI.
Ironically, JPII didn't elevate his direct successor (Ratzinger) to the College of Cardinals.

Sounds like you don't know what you're talking about but like to repeat controversial things for the shock value.

Filoni and Betori are your only voting Cardinals that fit this.

He basically ignored the concept of cardinalatial sees, especially in the U.S. where cities that traditionally had a cardinal such as Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Detroit didn't get one. Meanwhile the heads of sees that allied with Francis (Tobin in Indy/Newark, Gregory in D.C., Cupich in Chicago, and McElroy in San Diego) got a red hat.
