Yeah, but SouthernHog's got a point. It seems that many kids today are absolute conformists and slaves to the mainstream groupthink being pumped out of the MSM & social media.
If the youth today wanted to go against the grain, they would be outspoken conservatives or MAGA (using reason or logic would also work as well).

As a musician who grew up playing in punk rock bands, it’s sad finding out that all my heroes who were “rebels” were complete fricking frauds.
- The Offspring just recorded a song called, “You Gotta Go Get Vaccinated”
- Rage Against the Machine went from, “frick you I won’t do what you tell me!” to “listen to the authorities!”
- NOFX? Anti-Flag? Blink182? Rise Against? All a bunch of corporate/government loving frauds.
13 year old me could never have imagined that having conservative values would be considered rebellious.
- The Offspring just recorded a song called, “You Gotta Go Get Vaccinated”
- Rage Against the Machine went from, “frick you I won’t do what you tell me!” to “listen to the authorities!”

Punk rock goes against the mainstream/establishment.
That means today, punk rock would basically have to be against wokeness as that is the dominating force in media, entertainment, education and politics.

People tried cancelling the punk aesthetic since its inception. It rose out of several counter-culture movements, and what killed the aesthetic, more than anything else, was arguably the development of pop-punk, which sanitized emo and hardcore into something that could be played on the radio.
The better point to make would be to say that there is effectively no counter-culture anymore, just a series of atomized stances people take with no meaning or reference to a larger superstructure. There are so few aesthetic movements anymore, so few identifiable subcultures, just older, boring relics driven into the ground by the few remaining adherents. The fact that much of the energy of the youth in the West has been lost, mainly because of a stilted demographic situation.
I'm skeptical that Danzig or The Misfits will even be 'cancelled' retroactively though.
