We watched it play out. They ghosted Bernie and his supporters.

If Democrat voters are as upset as the GOP is about Biden stepping aside for Harris, Trump should cruise to victory come November.

Of course the democrat voters aren't upset. They are brainwashed morons. The dems could run a pedophile with dementia, and the democrat base would vote for him. I'm not even joking. The democrat candidate could literally display cognitive decline while inappropriately touching and sniffing little girls on live TV and the democrats would still vote for him. The name on the ticket is not important to them.

Then why does the GOP care?

GOP: "The Dem leadership is disenfranchising their own voters!"

Dem Voters: "Nah, we're actually good with the move."

GOP: "No! You have been disenfranchised! Trust me!"

Bernie was unable to select more delegates than Hillary because she beat him in the primaries. Because of that, her delegates were able to tell Bernie's to shut up.

That's how it's intended to work.

The confusion in that election was with Super Delegates. Those delegates are party officials and are not selected by any primary winners. Bernie argued that in order to be the nominee, Hillary needed to have a number of pledged delegates (won in primaries) higher than 50% of all delegates (pledged and super).

That's frankly stupid. Hillary had a majority of the primary delegates and nearly ALL of the super delegates, but Bernie was trying to claim she hadn't won it through the nominating process. It was a bogus argument.

The DNC changed the process so now super delegates can't vote in the first nominating round. They only exist so that if no candidate gets a majority in the first round, they can step on the scales in round 2 and end it before it goes to 20 different convention floor votes.

And yeah, Clinton would have had more delegates with or without super delegates.

Bernie's delegates might not have liked that they had little power at the convention, but they were in the minority. That's to be expected. Nikki Haley's delegates didn't have much say in the Republican convention either. It's by design for both parties.
