I keep hearing people with TDS claim that the Fed is non political and Independent and Trump can not criticize them. Here is Austan Goolsbee President of the Chicago Federal Reserve Board spewing lies during Trump's first term. This clown has always had TDS. If any poster tries to claim the Federal Reserve is not political they need to ban themselves

Of course it is political, they are appointed by politicians and are part of the establishment in this country...

Whenever the fake arse media claims something isn’t political, and their little bitches on this board follow up with the same lie in a condescending way, it just means it’s the MOST political entity possible

Before the Federal Reserve (1913) congressional overspending (deficits) was controlled by the people. We had veto power on how much overspending that congress could spend by simply not buying federal government bonds (debt).

Then they created the Federal Reserve. The Federal Reserve removed veto power from the people against congressional overspending. After the Federal Reserve it did not matter how much congress overspent, the FR was going to support congressional overspending by printing money and buying federal debt.

There is a reaction to this system and it's inflation. But people don't immediately feel inflation. We are like frogs in a heating up pot of water. It takes a minute to feel it.

However if there were no central bank bailing out congress, congress would immediately get feedback from the people about their overspending.

But now, the Federal Reserve protects congressional grifters.

"I was the chairman of the council of economic advisors"

He says that like that makes him the smartest person in the world concerning economics.

What’s redundant is the chairman of the Fed is appointed by the President but cannot be fired by the President

The feds are partisan hacks

Look no further than the previous fed chair, Janet Yellen, and how she tried to sabotage refi’s on the debt. Powell might be your hero, but he is just another partisan hack

You've proven that English is not your native language, but "political" and "independent" are not the same thing when it comes to monetary policy.

He was hired by the Chicago Fed in late 2022. Before that he worked for the Obama admin (both terms I think) so that's probably where this clip is coming from. I saw him in an interview a day or two ago on CNBC Squawk Box. Joe Kernan (CNBC employee) asked him a political question. Goolsbee said he couldn't answer because it would be political and Kernan opined that he missed the days when Austan could be political like in the past.

Remember to take these bots/Russian propaganda with a grain of salt around here. Do your research if you are ignorant on a subject. I was only able catch the bot this time because I saw Goolsbee refuse to discuss politics in that interview this week.

In fairness, that was pre-FOMC. Goolsbee has been exceptionally professional and non-partisan in his commentary since his appointment to the Chicago Federal Reserve Board and FOMC.

I know you'd not know that, because you don't follow this stuff closely.

Goolsbee never should have been appointed for these reasons.

Memo:

The FeralReserve "board" are corporate employees of LondonCentBank. Not America. No President actually makes money supply decisions or policy.
