I’m seeing a bunch of Busch Lite ads - mostly clever/funny; and maybe even…

Looks like A/B is punting on Bud Light

I grew up in Missouri and our go to beer was Busch Light. It was still my beer of choice for camping and fishing up until A-B shite the bed with that tranny.

Back in good ol days, Busch ran a lot of ads and their slogan was "head for the mountains, head for the Busch..."
Well a kid in my elementary school got sent home because he wore a T-shirt that said "screw the mountains I'm heading straight for the Bush" with an arrow pointing down to the crotch.
Even though he was in 4th or 5th grade that was a "fratty" move on his part and he should have been celebrated rather than sent home.

When I was still drinking mass produced shelf beer over 10 years ago I drank Busch, Busch light, straight Budweiser and AB had a beer called Black Crown I liked…..no longer in production.

But I haven’t seen Busch ads in forever, and Busch Light?
Never
We’re watching a movie on Comedy Central
So far, 3 Busch Light and 2 Mich Ultra ads

I am not just boycotting Bud Light. I'm boycotting anything that says "an AB product" on the label.

They've been after them on digital billboards here for a couple of months now. Pretty clever stuff, too.

I can't boycott Bud Light or AB since I don't drink any of their products to start with. I love Guinness, but it gives me the runs.
When I was a little kid, my Swedish grand father would give me a sip of his bear if I went to the fridge and got it for him so I developed an early taste for beer. He still had hops growing on trellis which he used during Prohibition.

^^
It’s just a shift to another product while bud light team takes the hit. Everything is owned by only a few companies.

Beers are priced (and grouped) by categories: Imports, premium, popular, budget. Beer cost about the same to produce so the difference in price for a popular beer (miller high life, busch) and a premium (bud light, miller lite) is mostly increased profit (less the marketing).
If you are seeing a lot of busch ads it means they are spending more money than normal (which reduces the profit) on a brand that already has lower margins due to the pricing.
Its equivalent to Ford swapping out its sales volume on Land Rovers to Taurus and then advertising the snot out of it. In addition, busch has little presence in the on premise, a huge channel of business where little discounting is done.
It may save some volume long term, but it certainly will not help the bottom line from a business perspective.
