Income required to be middle class in each state

Really depends on how much debt you have, what assets you already own, etc. Not just on income and cost of living alone.

Too many variables unaccounted for like household size; rural vs city vs suburban living, etc.

No way the middle class starts at 39k in LA. That's like 7k above our median
Maybe like, 25k
Maybe like, 25k

The middle class is generally defined as households earning between two-thirds and double the national median household income.
It says it right there

I wouldn’t begin to think you could live in Colorado making a paltry $62k?

I don't think 25k is "middle class" anywhere in the US, bro.

So LA should be like $21-64k
*ETA: individual. per google. If that number is off it's b/c of the google machine.

Probably median income is what? 30 something

I couldn’t imagine making 21k a year in 2025 unless I was a teen living with my parents.

If you live in Eastern CO you can live in that pretty easy. Places like Ft Morgan or Sterling

Louisiana has a lot of poor people making jack and shite. Like people who don't work or or work part time making 10/hour.

That’s kind of low. At 21k you might be better just not working and living off the tit.
