Go talk to Esquire. I didn't say anything about Catholicism until he/she first attacked my statement on election by saying John Calvin invented it. So no, I didn't pick a fight. Esquire did.

That's nice. I didn't say Catholics don't ever read their Bibles or don't hear them read. I said that Catholics like to downplay the Bible in favor of tradition, which is doctrinally true when the Bible is downgraded from being the only infallible rule for faith and life to one of a few different rules.

My statement was also directed at Esquire, who seems to think that election is something that is absent from the Bible and "made up" by John Calvin, so my advice to him/her was to open up the Bible and see what it says.

I didn't come here to fight with anyone. I responded to someone else picking a fight with me. You should have known that because I quoted the response I was responding to in my response. You even said that my first post in this thread was constructive, so that should have told you that I didn't enter into this thread with any intention to argue with Catholics.

Why aren't you chastising Esquire for their post attacking John Calvin? He/she did the exact thing that you falsely accused me of (coming in here to pick fights)? As a fellow Catholic, I would expect you to want to set Esquire right on picking fights.
