Jennifer Lawrence has been cast as Jesus Christ and Emma Stone as Judas in Martin Scorsese’s next movie, set to shoot later this year. It will be a gender-reversed, modern telling of the biblical events set in Southern California.
There is a bidding war between Apple, Netflix, Sony, Paramount, and Universal. Amazon wanted in but the movie's backers didn't want Amazon involved.

Well… I’ll reserve judgement until the colossally bad numbers after it is released.

This country is under a generational curse and the subsequent generations are making it worse. We need a revival in the worst way.

Someone tell Scorsese to nut-up and make a movie about mohammed and his child-bride......
Now I wonder WHY he would be hesitant to do a thing like that....

Can't wait for the Christianity Today and David Frum reviews.

but why?
He's basically doing what SFP/AggieHank/DisplacedButthole/Crazy4LSU/Powerman would do if they had the talent to make a movie, being a shitlord and attacking Christians, nothing more.
Of course, none of those puzzies would have the stones to mock islam (which is infinitely more deserving of mockery) for fear of becoming perished....

Judas cleans up pretty nice but Jesus looks amazing naked.

Good reminder to re-cancel Apple+ and Netflix. I turned them on for Christmas stuff for kids.

You may need to go read up on ole Marty. He's a Catholic and has made many meditations on faith and the complexity of life intertwined with faith.
I suggest you try Silence (2016), starring Liam Neesom, Andrew Garfield, and Adam Driver.
quote:
Silence is a 2016 epic historical drama film directed by Martin Scorsese from a screenplay by Jay Cocks and Scorsese, based on the 1966 novel of the same name by Shusaku Endo. The film stars Andrew Garfield, Adam Driver, Tadanobu Asano, Ciarán Hinds and Liam Neeson. The plot follows two 17th-century Jesuit priests who travel from Portugal to Edo period Japan via Macau to locate their missing mentor and spread Catholic Christianity. The story is set in a time when it was common for the faith's Japanese adherents to hide from the persecution that resulted from the suppression of Christianity in Japan after the Shimabara Rebellion (1637–1638) against the Tokugawa shogunate. These are now called the kakure kirishitan, or "hidden Christians". It is the third filmed adaptation of Endo's novel, following a 1971 film of the same name.

David Frum is absolute filth. Dude is as far left as VOR and it's insane he ever pretended to be a "conservative".
