A federal judge on Thursday blocked actions by President Trump’s Department of Education that aimed to force public universities and K-12 schools to get rid of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs.

Federal Judge Landya McCafferty issued a preliminary injunction against a “Dear Colleague” letter that told universities they could be at risk of civil rights investigations if they have DEI programs on campus, a certification requirement for K-12 schools that DEI programs were eliminated and actions against schools reported through the Education Department’s “DEI portal.”

“Today’s ruling allows educators and schools to continue to be guided by what’s best for students, not by the threat of illegal restrictions and punishment,” said Becky Pringle, president of the National Education Association.

“The fact is that Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and [Education Secretary] Linda McMahon are using politically motivated attacks and harmful and vague directives to stifle speech and erase critical lessons to attack public education, as they work to dismantle public schools,” she added.

The lawsuit was brought on by the National Education Association, its New Hampshire affiliate and the Center for Black Educator Development. LINK

Weird how all of the blocks are done by judges appointed by Democrats. It's almost as if there is some shopping going on.

Doesn't prevent DOJ/DOE from suing them. All it says is they dont have to respond to the letter.

Time to fire it up. Title IV racial discrimination claims against every school and university that refuses to comply. It's their choice.

This is where it all starts, and ends. To the percent of the populous that the Judge's Rulings do not reflect the subjective opinions and preferences of particular and polarized individuals/groups, then Rule of Law has in effect, gone away for those who lose re the Ruling. Especially in the serious stuff, like Judges inviting Cartel Gangs into our communities and letting them wreak havoc. Or having one's children indoctrinated with perverse sexual deviance from a young age ("grooming"). Or printing money until the USD collapses in order to do the Left's "Great Reset" and "fundamental change".

MAGA knows. A 'Constitutional Crisis' is coming. It's fight or be subjugated, as it always has been re the historical record.

You know it is terrible for the country when a teacher's union supports it.

It looks like the Trump administration is going to have to ignore these courts in order to save the Republic.

Just looked at her, yup.

You couldve pointed at her in a crowd prior to the ruling and said she is one that would do this.

States should be asking their voters to decide this issue. I supoort the elimination of DEI in schools, but we don't need the federal government for that.

Besides, DEI is racism defined!!! This country has lost it's collective mind!

No. It's going to take Mike Johnson getting a set of balls and impeaching these judges in the house. He's too timid for that.

True. But first there needs to be extreme pressure put on Congress to dissolve the Department of Education.

Sure, the Executive Orders and presidential discretion looks nice and it rallies the troops, but it leaves the monster alive. If you don't kill it, it will return. If at the end of Trump's second term in office the Department of Education still exists as an entity in any fashion he will have failed on this goal.
