Mercedes was smart to build a plant in the USA.. They will soon be 25% cheaper than their compeditors.

How will they be cheaper than other American-made cars?

Additionally, the Tuscaloosa plant produces a significant number of cars for export. Tariffs imposed by other countries may affect MB's overseas markets.

Do you think they’re going to give you that money? Is that typically how car dealers operate?

Nothing like an accord or camry for $50,000.

And your 4 Runner made in Japan will more than likely last longer than the accord made in the USA.

Boy, I hope so! Biggest reason why we bought it, hope to keep it forever! My other vehicles are 17, 25 and 30yrs old.

At one time, the most American made car, in terms of domestic parts, was a Toyota Camry.

I'm wary of any of the newer models long term. Toyota has a long history of reliability but it remains to be seen in the small displacement turbo engines are going to last.

I had a 92 lexus that I sold with half a million miles.

Yeah, I doubt anything will get that kind of mileage on it anymore! Sad!

It is if they want to increase market share.

Toyota has plants all over USA, same with Nissan, MB, BMW, Hyundai, and VW. Most are spread across the South.

ETA: I think Porsche does too
