HARRISON COUNTY, Miss. (WLOX) - An unexpected announcement from Harrison County Tuesday could jeopardize a Black Spring Break event in Biloxi.
A memo from Harrison County was sent out during Biloxi’s City Council meeting and was read aloud by Police Chief John Miller. In the letter, the county stated that it will not be issuing permits for commercial use or amplified sound events during Black Spring Break weekend, which is April 12 - 14.
Mississippi Black Spring Break submitted for one of those beach permits with Harrison County, along with a special event application in Biloxi. The organization wants to host parties on the beach in Biloxi that would include a DJ, bikini contest, co-ed football, and other events. However, the announcement from Harrison County could impact those plans.
“I think what [Harrison County] is talking about, is if someone is paying to go to an event or they are collecting fees or anything like that where it would be a commercial venture; where you’re making money,” Biloxi Police Chief John Miller said

That means Mississippi Black Spring Break might be able to host a bikini contest and other events, as long as it is free events. And the announcement from Harrison County does not prevent people from gathering on the beach.
Mississippi Black Spring Break has received approval from Harrison County in previous years to host its parties on the beach, but the county told WLOX News that the parties rarely stay on the beach and party go-ers often cross Highway 90, which is a safety issue. That message echoes Biloxi’s problems with the special event application, which was denied in part because of public safety concerns with pedestrians and a parking plan that did not satisfy Biloxi Police.
“Pedestrian traffic across Highway 90 is an issue,” Miller added. “We have tried to control that before. We tried setting up designated crossing points, but we couldn’t get people to adhere to it. The problem is that if there are people constantly crossing, traffic cannot flow.”
An appeal hearing for Mississippi Black Spring Break’s special event application is set for April 2 at Biloxi City Hall.

Not sure of the numbers but the result has been the same.
To be fair though, many cities are shying away from all spring breakers. I don’t blame them. The kids don’t respect the cops, business owners or the locals much any longer.
But the blacks only events bring much more crime and deviant behavior as their culture is consolidated into a small area.

My nephew's FIL retired from the Atlanta PD. He was a captain.
You should hear him talk about Freaknik coming to Atlanta. He said it was like a crime wave of uncontrolled thugs turned loose on the city. Atlanta came down on them so hard they moved it to Dekalb Co. Then Dekalb came down on them hard. Finally in the late 90s they stopped having it altogether. It was a huge relief to LEO and citizens alike.
I'm sure 'black spring break' is no different.

It's fascinating to watch this cycle get repeated over and over and over. You'd think the chamber of commerce types who think it's a good idea don't have access to the internet or any history.

A new promotion that is thankfully failing is called Orange Crush.
It’s a black themed beach week tried in Jacksonville and several other southern beach locations.
Complete disaster.

The "normal" spring break issues in Miami.....also involved primarily blacks crashing the events and shooting at each other.

Yeah this is the trend. It has nothing to do with the demos of this particular spring break.
These beach towns on the Gulf Coast are now 365 day operations and don't have to rely on SB to survive.
