The church needs a conservative pope to get it back on track.

0% chance.

Francis appointed over half the cardinals who will elect the next pope.

When they go into the Sistine Chapel, the ones who want to be pope will begin making speeches. And the cardinals will think ‘hey, I like that’ or ‘oh I have concerns about that.’ I believe that anyone that might even approach the ideas of returning to the roots, or something of a course correction, or something of a counter to the progressive nature of the most recent papacy, will go nowhere.

Have you seen who will elect the next pope? Unfortunately, Conservative won’t be the voice.
the hope is the SJW cardinals can’t help themselves and elect an African pope and he ends up being conservative since they don’t play or at least right of the nonsense Francis was condoning

All of the cardinals that elected Francis were appointed by either John Paul II or Benedict, so…anything is possible.

Yea, I’m aware.

Francis even said when Benedict died it felt like he lost his father.

But I don’t see this pendulum swinging back.

After decades of John Paul II and Benedict, there was a desire to take a different direction.

I'm Catholic, but I'm not shedding a tear for him. That doesn't mean I am happy he died. He will always be known as the "Woke Pope". He did us no favors. He picked and chose only lefty issues to take a stand on, especially immigration.. I never heard him call out the left on their abortion stance.

"Ancient"

If the larpers want to truly celebrate an ancient liturgy, they are welcome to come to the only Christian Church that the catholics broke off from 1000 years ago.

If so, we may see a schism. Unlike their counterparts in the West, the Bishopdom in Africa and Asia actually and forcefully promote Catholic doctrine.

Bishops in Malawi declare ‘blessings for same-sex unions of any kind are not permitted’

Bishops in Malawi have prohibited the implementation of the Vatican declaration on the blessing of “same-sex couples” and couples in other “irregular situations,” Fiducia Supplicans, which the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith (DDF) released Dec. 18.

In a two-page statement dated Dec. 19, members of the Episcopal Conference of Malawi (ECM) offered “clarification on the declaration on the pastoral meaning of blessings, Fiducia Supplicans” and stated that they prohibit the practice of such blessings in the southern African nation.

“We direct that for pastoral reasons, blessings … for same-sex unions of any kind are not permitted in Malawi,” ECM members said in their collective statement.

The Church leaders’ directive prohibiting the blessings “for same-sex unions of any kind” in the country follows a four-point clarification of the latest Vatican declaration….

Left and right are two sides of the same coin. One always brings out the other.

Christian Church

It saddens me deeply to say this, yet I think all honest Catholics disturbed by Pope Francis’ heterodoxy has at some time looked over their shoulders at their Orthodox brothers across the Tiber River and wistfully wondered “What in the name of Peter has gone wrong?”
