JNoles just posted this in another thread

I'm not mad, just don't be shocked when you see a significant amount of R voters checked out during the general election.

Guess we know why we have Biden. Never trumpers…..

Well this civil war that we have had better come to an end quickly and turn the focus onto the dems while attempting to win over independents. But apparently we can’t have something sensible like that.

Consider me out. If Trump is the nominee I'm not voting for him a third time.

Need the party to put out some halfway decent candidates or start playing dirty.

There's a reason democrats can get someone like Joe Biden elected (and probably elected twice).

Reps don't actually give a frick. Put an "R" next to your name, pretend to hate "D's", indulge in lobbying and insider trading....lather, rinse, repeat until you're ready to retire.

"checking out" is a guaranteed victory for the democrats

and yes, part of the reason we have Biden is because of all the "holier-than-thou" republicans who hate Trump, like MisplacedCuckeye, who wrote in candidates who had zero chance at winning instead of voting for Trump

And yet, they see nothing wrong with it. They take zero accountability for such stupidity.

Too many conservatives have just thrown their hands up in the air. That's why the left has been so successful in their messaging to the youth. There has been so many missed opportunities to support Populist right wing movements - because of white guilt or some pseudo-liberal tugging at the heart strings by puritans that will never get elected.

It would seem that Biden and the left do not upset them enough to get out and vote for Trump. Somehow Trump is worse in their view. They would rather take their ball and go home, effectively supporting Biden and the left just so they can possibly be proven right.

Flip that around and most MAGA folk will get out and support the R candidate, regardless of who it is, as they have great disdain for Biden and the left.

The second Trump clinches the nomination I will be all in on third party. Solidarity party or No Labels (depending on who they nominate, has to be someone pro-life) will get my vote.

I’ll gladly vote for him a 3rd time. I do not want the dems in power at the national level. I’ve lived what has happened here in Cali and my biggest fear has always been Cali going nationwide. Which I’m damn near convinced is about to happen in 2024.

So you agree Trump should pledge to support the eventual GOP nominee?

Why hasn’t he done that yet?

Why should he? He’s up biggly where everyone with a brain and decency should drop out.

If Trump pledges to support the eventual GOP nominee, i’ll support him in the general if he’s the nominee.

If he reserves himself the option to frick over the party should he lose, then I’ll reserve the option to do whatever I can to sink his candidacy. That’s fair, right?

Your logic makes no sense.

If you know that Trump turns off a significant portion of Republicans and Independents, and thus, cannot win...

It is not their fault. It is yours for putting up a candidate despite this.

That's when you recalibrate and try to figure out a candidate that:

a) Shares your values
b) does not alienate independents and Republicans

Hmmmmm

Crazy logic in the face of that decision effectively serving as a vote for Biden and the left.

Trump has issues, but Biden and the left? It’s binary and it’s a simple choice for those that don’t like the left.
