For the non-clickers: UK woman stood on the sidewalk near an abortion clinic that wasn't even open and silently prayed to herself (think: "meditation") and the UK police arrested her for what is essentially a "thoughtcrime" (if you listen closely enough you can hear the spirit of George Orwell saying "I tried to warn you!").

Ultimately, the UK court found in her favor, but I consider it a bit of a shallow victory. She was awarded £13,000 from the West Midlands Police, which said it settled her civil claim "without any admission of liability". She should have held her ground and forced the admission of liability, going down that path (likely repeatedly) is the only avenue for pushing back against this sort of insanity.

shite man. I say "Speak English" all the damn time. Tantrums I hear another language being spoken by a resident of America, I say " This is the USA. We speak English here."

I don't do it often in Oklahoma because I rarely hear other languages here, but when I have to venture to Texico across the Red River, I say it several times a day.
