It’s yuge! Hopefully southern Illinois can get an R in that seat and even better when Pritzker announces he will be running for dem presidential primary. The next two years could be big for Illinois and the senate with Durbin retiring.

I doubt the D party would allow him to retire without having already picked his replacement and have some assurance that person will be elected

I truly love the job of being a United States Senator.
I bet he does/did. Free Healthcare for life and large taxpayer funded pension until he dies. He also got millions in kickbacks from lobbyists in return for screwing the citizenry. All while not having to work full time all year round like the rest of us plebs. It is a pretty sweet gig if you lack the moral compass for it.

Hmmmm… someone once said something about watching resignations and people who do not run for reelection.
I’m sure it’s nothing.

It will just be filled with another communist, likely a younger further to,the left if that’s possible, candidate. There are not enough people outside of Chicago to vote Republican.

That USAID and Ukraine shady money dried up. The longtime gravy train went off the rails and he won't be able to pad his pockets like he used to. So, he's bailing.

Illinois isn’t going red anytime soon. Chicago simply has too much power over the rural voters in the southern part of the state. It will always be like that, unfortunately.

No matter how it's worded, remember when they said we'd see a lot of retirements? This is the rats jumping off the ship

And has been long considered an epstein client

Good.
He turned 80 this past November. That’s when he should have been forced to pack his shite and get the F out the Capitol.
