Shrek 2 on MTV, the dumbest censorship ever, re:Pepper Spray/Police

My now 19 year old grew up watching this movie. It's one of those "kid" movies that, as a parent, I didn't hate watching over and over again. The writing is clever and still funny today.
Well, it was on MTV yesterday and my kid actually sat down and watched it. It got to the part of the movie where it was making fun of the show 'Cops' with a parody called 'Knights'.
It had the white bronco chase, the catnip/marijuana joke, but they had removed the part where Shrek gets "pepper sprayed" by a pepper grinder and Donkey cries police brutality.
The kid was pissed; he says that's one of his favorite parts. His conclusion was that MTV was pandering to SJWs that like to riot and would be offended by a pepper spray joke.
We live in a clown world.

LOL! I was in the kitchen cooking. My hubby hit guide and saw Shrek 2 was on. He thought it would be good background noise while he shitposted on TD and various other places.
The kid was enjoying a rare day off from school and work and got sucked in.
