Starmer told UK must repeal hate speech laws or lose Trump trade deal

‘Good chance’ of agreement, says JD Vance – but a source close to the administration says his concerns over Britain’s hate speech laws ‘are still a red line’
Sir Keir Starmer must embrace Donald Trump’s agenda by repealing hate speech laws in order to get a trade deal over the line, a Washington source has told The Independent.
The warning came after the US vice-president suggested a UK-US agreement may be close, with the White House “working very hard” on it.
He told UnHerd: “I think there’s a good chance that, yes, we’ll come to a great agreement that’s in the best interest of both countries.”
Mr Vance’s recent speech to the right-wing Heritage Foundation think tank was cited as an example of his views on Western culture and free speech being linked to securing an agreement.
“No free speech, no deal. It is as simple as that,” the Washington source said.

Vance is doing the Lord's work on this issue. Nobody should be imprisoned or have a criminal record for saying something offensive or iconoclastic.

Here we go again using access to our markets for political purposes.
This is what got us into this mess.

China makes any business that wants access to their market give them their fricking blueprints.
You don’t think this is standard procedure?

Why do we care about their free speech laws?

Why do we care about their free speech laws?
UK doing criminalizing of speech is too much too close to us.
Hell I still want the Dutch farmers to defeat the WEF disease under which Europe is plagued
The totalitarian aspects of the European criminals known as WEF should be stopped by all earthlings - it is that important

Just what this board needs is another groomer that wants to silence the enemy.

Shaking up our trading partners and realigning trade and geopolitical issues to be more advantageous to America???
That's not a mess, that's change for the better.

Trump and Bessent have stated repeatedly that geopolitical issues would be part of the trade negotiations. I don't know if you voted for Trump, but I did and trust him to do what he promised.
America First. As far as how he accomplishes this, that's on Trump.
If I thought I could do better, I would've ran for president. I don't, so I voted for the person I believed could.
If a person voted for Trump, they should let the man do his job. If it doesn't work out, then we can bitch.

Well, if you don't get it, then nobody is going to be able to explain it to you because it's self explanatory and in the simplest of terms.
