If I remember correctly, she lived with Brenda Benet who was a soap star way back in the day. She ending up committing suicide & I think Bruce is the one who found her.

Here's a little Tammy Bruce trivia ... those of y'all my age will probably remember this.
In the original movie Walking Tall about Bufford Pusser played by Joe Don Baker ... there is a bar hooer, played by Brenda Benet, in the movie her name was Luanne if I remember correctly. Beautiful woman. In the movie she was murdered by the redneck mafia for being an informant to Pusser.
Well, irl, Benet was married but she was having an affair with a little known writer at the time. And when that writer dumped her ... Benet committed suicide.
It was a big deal back in the day.
Her lesbian lover's name was ... Tammy Bruce. Still is for that matter.

I think Benet was actually married to Bill Bixby at the time (Courtship of Eddie's Father and The Incredible Hulk.) Supposedly she was having this affair with Tammy Bruce at the time and Bixby found out about it and filed for divorce. So she left and moved in with Tammy Bruce ... but Bruce soon dumped her. So Benet took her own lufe in Bruce's bathroom, pistol to the head if I remember correctly.
Bruce was ostracized by Hollywood because of it and flipped from a raging lesbian liberal to Conservative and hating Hollywood. It was quite the scandal.
Benet was in her sexual prime at 36 when she killed herself. She was quite well known and recognized back then. Bruce was sorta cold-hearted about it and peoole didn't like that. Plus Bixby went after Bruce after the suicide.
