Back in 2005, I worked for a hotel development company that owned about 50 hotels across the country. They owned Residence Inns, Homewood Suites, Hampton Inns, etc.
When Katrina devastated NOLA, the company entered into an agreement with FEMA to rent rooms at their hotel in Houston for people displaced by the storm. I wasn’t at that hotel as I was in SoCal at another hotel that was being remodeled. But from what I understand when the agreement ended and all the FEMA people vacated the hotel, there was a lot of damage caused by the displaced people. FEMA picked up the tab to repair the damage. The company decided to do a full remodel on that property and FEMA paid for the 75% of the costs. The company had scheduled to remodel that hotel anyway as they remodeled every property every 5 to 7 years.
So if things are the same as back then, a lot of these hotels will get significant money to pay for damages.

i wonder if any of that money went to the roosevelt hotel? the taxpayers are paying the government of pakistan to house illegal aliens.Posted on 2/11/25 at 12:59 pm to doublecutter
We shouldn't pay to house them at all, but if we must, why is it in the most expensive city in the country?
There are plenty of hard-working Americans that cannot afford to live in Manhattan.

Now, ICE need to block every exit and start loading them up. After all, they ARE here illegally, right?

Back trailers up to the doors and do them like we do cattle.
