ACCEPTABLE WATER PRESSURE IN SHOWERHEADS

Now take care of the stupid one for kitchen faucets.

quote:

Federal Standard:
Federal standards require that kitchen faucets and faucet aerators manufactured and sold in the United States after January 1, 1994, use no more than 2.2 gallons per minute (gpm).

WTH does it matter how many GPM can flow through a kitchen faucet?

After shower remodel, had to pull some little black doodad out of shower head to make it flow like one would expect.

I think that the higher the possible flow rate the more water a user will use.

Ordering the Repeal of the 13,000-Word Regulation Defining “Showerhead”.  I hereby direct the Secretary of Energy to publish in the Federal Register a notice rescinding Energy Conservation Program:  Definition of Showerhead, 86 Fed. Reg. 71797 (December 20, 2021), including the definition of “showerhead” codified at 10 C.F.R. 430.2.  Notice and comment is unnecessary because I am ordering the repeal.  The rescission shall be effective 30 days from the date of publication of the notice.

Yup. Almost every trip we take I’ll take it out if possible.

Why is that funny to you? It was enacted to limit water usage and (supposedly) energy costs from reheating your water heater.

because the gallons consumed to fill my kitchen sink isn't reduced by filling it slower. I don't use less water filling a pitcher or boiling eggs.

You’re seriously doubting that, or do you think it doesn’t matter?

I think it’s obviously true, and it’s consequential in some places, like L.A. but not in others like in South Louisiana.
