I LOVE IT!
it’s stupid and doesn’t even serve the original purposes they used to install it.
and down in Central & South America where they are mostly on CST, and when i travel, my time clock stays the same.
but during DST, i’m now 1-hour behind Colombia and gets dark too soon, less time of day to enjoy the yard and outdoor activities.

I thought they were going to do this like 2 or 3 years ago and then it got snagged up in the Senate for some reason. Would be great for those of us in Alabama, but my friend in Georgia says it doesn't get light until after 8AM if they change it.

Good Congress passed it

Tuberville would approve. He's probably still crying that we "lost an hour of sunlight" when the time changed.

Us old people go to bed early. We don't like that sun creeping through the window at 7 pm.

FYI - if they do what the OP is suggesting, lots of you are gonna be very mad

ETA: Hint - The Proposal in Congress was to make Daylight Savings the permanent time

It made it onto paper in Congress and they just sat on it. For years.
If anyone can actually get it done, hopefully Vivek and Elon can.

I think over 90 percent of the population would support this. We need to pass legislation that all Americans agree with. We need to mend the country.

Do the easy stuff first.

I don’t like DST. It burns up my grass.

You like it getting dark at 4pm in winter?

DST is the one most people like. We are currently in standard time.

Going to have to remove those Oregon Congressmen who keep blocking it first.

Maybe you misunderstood my post, I have not heard a good reason for DST.
Why move the clocks forward 1 hour in the spring and then back 1 hour in the fall?
I can't think of a good reason and I've never heard of a good reason.
There is no good reason for DST that I can think of, leave the clocks alone and quit flipping forward 1 hour in the spring and falling back an hour in the fall.
Here's Google's answer......
quote:
The purpose of daylight saving time (DST) is to make better use of natural daylight and save energy by reducing the need for artificial lighting:
More daylight
DST moves clocks forward by one hour in the spring and summer, so people can enjoy more daylight in the evenings.
This^^^ doesn't seem like a very good reason. With DST in effect it doesn't get dark in KC until after 9PM from late May through mid August. Why move the clock ahead in the spring when the days are already lengthening? Daylight in KC maxes out at nearly 15 hours/day in June.
