The Left is turning to AntiNatalism Ideology with ‘Stop Having Kids’ Billboards in Oregon

Billboards funded by a grass roots activist group in Portland, Oregon that wants to normalize antinatalism (believing it is morally wrong for people to have children) have been seen popping up around the city. The billboards urge residents to “Stop Having Kids.” The organization of the same name says on its website that “Stop Having Kids” acknowledges that an unconscionable amount of needless suffering, injustice, and death exist in the world—with birth serving as the catalyst for it all. “As a result, it is a moral imperative that we strive to minimize and prevent (not through coercion, pressure, or force) as many new lives as possible.”
The philosophical belief of AntiNatalism has grown in support the past few years. If you dont believe in evolution, this should change your mind. The weak, miserable, and less productive members of our society (the far left), are beginning to promote the idea that no one should have children. Currently, AntiNatalists are using the perceived “threats” of climate change and overpopulation as their main arguments to why humans should no longer reproduce. However, those are only modern arguments that are marketable to the average liberal and those with a warped sense of morality.
This ideology is not new and dates back as far as Aristotle, but it has been most recently popularized by South African Philosopher David Benatar. The core belief of AntiNatalism is that life is not a miracle. They argue that every human will suffer in life, and because humans cannot give consent to being born, it is therefore immoral to bring a person into this world.
If you’re unfamiliar with AntiNatalism, I highly suggest researching Benatar’s work to help better understand how and why the radical left views the world so differently. Below is quick summary of Benatar’s “Asymmetry” Arguement:
quote:
Benatar argues there is crucial asymmetry between the good and the bad things, such as pleasure and pain, which means it would be better for humans not to have been born:
1. The presence of pain is bad.
2. The presence of pleasure is good.
3. The absence of pain is good, even if that good is not enjoyed by anyone.
4. The absence of pleasure is not bad unless there is somebody for whom this absence is a deprivation.
When I first learned of AntiNatalism is college, I dismissed it as pessimistic ideology that no one really believed. I was wrong. There is now an AntiNatalism subreddit with 150K subscribers. I could not imagine living life with this depressed hopeless view of the word. Yes, we all suffer. But to live is to suffer and to live free is to live in constant defiance of that suffering. Never have a group of people been so desperately in need of stopping and smelling the roses or hearing Garth Brook’s lyrics in his song The Dance. Not only is this ideology in direct conflict with Christianity, it defies the basic human instinctual belief that life is good.
History has shown that natural selection is at play when ideological groups forbid reproduction. The “Shakers” of the 19th century is a prime example. Putting ideology aside, lets examine the basic biological affects of AntiNatalism: When a living organism decides not to reproduce, they’re removing their genes from the gene pool, and effectively preventing the creation of more people that are likely to have the same traits that led them to their distorted world view. Eventually the species evolves with less and less occurrences of the defective mutation that prevented reproduction.
I see no issue with AntiNatalists choosing this lifestyle for themselves, so long as they withhold from implementing coercive measures to prevent others from procreating. I view their decision as a form of cultural and societal suicide (Their culture and their societies, not the West as a whole). They’re volunteering to stop the growth of their miserable group existence. Lets be honest, the world will be a better place if the leftists do not procreate. Their acceptance of this philosophy is an acceptance of their inferiority.

If someone is hellbent on putting these billboards up, I can’t think of a better place than Portland.

And yet the people promoting this continue to live.

Maybe they should all just kill themselves.

You would think the average citizen that considers their self to be liberal would want to peek behind the curtain and see who or what is driving all this nonsense. Something seriously fricky is going on and it's being orchestrated by someone(s).

Have AntiNatalists considered offing themselves? They are taking space away from those that appreciate being alive.

Ironically, they find suicide to be immoral. Ultimately, I believe this philosophy is just used as an excuse for their selfish way of life.

Assisted suicide is legal in Oregon...just fire up the Kevorkian and get to it!

If this movement were to pop up in progressive locales nationwide, would that be the worst thing?

We all know a Doug & Debbie Whiner and we avoid them all like the plague. As it says, this contrived BS has been around for thousands of years and it rears it’s ugly head from time to time. frick ‘em.

So the far left will stop having kids. Sounds good.

They should all kill themselves and leave the rest of us alone.

Its very appropriate for the PNW. Rural areas arent bad. But have you ever been to Seattle? Portland? They are some mix of:
1) Deeply unhappy people
2) refuse to do anything to make their lives better
3) reject the idea of sacrifice to accomplish their dreams.
4) have no dreams
Both places are literally NPC-ville.

I dare them to display such a billboard in a Muslim area.
But lefties, being cowards, would never do such a thing.
Just like they won’t put rainbow Disney offal in a Muslim area.

Even the Chi Comms figured out that the one child policy is not a good strategy for long game world domination.

They're projecting their self-hatred onto everyone. Disgusting people.
