Most of the Bible authors are all about Yahweh-exclusivity. Those are insults to the other gods. Yahweh is better than them… he made the heavens… the other gods didn’t. Elilim (commonly translated “idols”) is a derogatory word used for the Elohim (see the similarity in the two words?) of the other nations.

In 2 Kings 3, Yahweh even gets defeated by Chemosh the god of Moab. The other gods are Yahweh’s peers, which is why he gets jealous when his people worship the other gods. He’s very insecure, in fact he even states his name is jealous (Exodus 32:14).
