Not sure how this is done without the usual suspects taking advantage of the system, and we just wind up with much more welfare.

Pretty easily. Tax breaks on taxes owed up to $0. No tax credits.

That poster that you responded to has a big hard on for the gays apparently

Incredibly stupid idea. Aren't enough baby-mamas living in subsidized poverty ignoring kids they don't give a shite about other than government money? It's just making more crime farms.
Stop promoting hedonistic humanism in every facet of life and teach children what sex really is. That's a far better beginning than throwing government money at it.

There's no way this can backfire. At least put qualifications on it like it must be a two-parent household with one of the parents having a full-time job for a certain amount of time.
Or we could do the harder thing and fix how stupid childcare is in this country. One-time $5k is nothing when daycare costs $10k/year. Maybe make a few less bombs to build and staff public childcare and pre-k services.

Have 4 kids and you are Tax Free like Hungary

This is a great way to get the people that shouldn't be reproducing to hump like rabbits. Even more than they already are.

And preferably tax paying ones who own and don't rent

Won’t work. Scandinavian countries have excellent benefits to incentivize parenthood and their birth rates have only continued to decrease. What we are seeing are women deciding to have either less or no children because they want to walk a different path. How do you change that? I have no idea

People aren’t willing to lower their standard of living in order to have children or more children. Having kids is extremely hard these days because it usually means the husband and wife both have to work full time jobs. I’m in that boat and I absolutely hate that my wife isn’t home with the kids. All I can do is work harder and try to earn more.

I would agree with this but again I think the main driver is more and more women just either don’t want to have children or are having less than in the past because they want to do different things with their lives.

believe the op stated he is considering options. How do you know he's not considering this one?

The gov't needs to get out of our lives. They have zero business with how many kids I have. Go away. Stop paying people for kids, stop paying people to get married or not married, stop paying people to buy houses, stop paying people to buy solar. JUST STOP!

$5K to produce a child... if $5K was the deciding factor in whether or not you reproduce then you should reevaluate your decision making abilities.

The 19th Amendment caused this shite... so get rid of that first

Here’s what we need:
No income tax on first $200k for married couples who have more than 1 child
No income tax on first $200k for married couples who have more than 1 child

Terrible idea.
