Fake news? Hard to believe.

What’s the whole story?
On its face that doesn’t make sense for Trump to deny a red state

I hope you appreciated this article. Before you move on, I wanted to ask whether you could support the Guardian’s journalism as we face the unprecedented challenges of covering this administration.

Not surprising trump said fema wasn't effective and he can prove it here. Let Arkansas take care of Arkansas.

If true, not good. Why give a red state a reason to not support you in mid-terms and in 2028?

Hard to believe.

Trump has said from day one he wanted to get rid of FEMA and let the states take care of disaster relief.

Trump says FEMA isn't effective and is withholding funds and FEMA relief. As a result we have a growing list of states begging for funds and relief and saying they can't do it alone, without the assistance of the wholly ineffective FEMA.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – On Friday, April 11, 2025, the State of Arkansas received a denial from the federal government regarding funding for Individual Assistance (IA) through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in connection with the severe storms and tornadoes that occurred on March 14, 2025. Arkansas’s request for Public Assistance (PA) related to this event is still pending.
Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders is currently working with the Arkansas Division of Emergency Management (ADEM) to appeal the federal government’s denial for IA. Arkansas has 30 days to submit the necessary documentation for an appeal.
I've never had to use FEMA so I don't know much about it, but it looks (to me) like he denied individual assistance but might have approved 'public assistance.'

And here we are.
I've said from day one that the funding being dumped into the bureaucratic Washington DC arm of FEMA should be rolled toward the states instead. Just about every bit of the hands-on work that is done by FEMA is done by local residents in the states impacted with help from other states dispatched as needed. Those groups are made up of normal people, living in those and similar towns. Roll the damn funding that is being dumped to the office workers to these people and allow them to use it as needed.

That may be true but it will not go over well to see your governor beg for help and the President tells your state to go pound sand.

interested in what rules were, no doubt, broken since the only alternative doesn't cast the mod in a positive light.

Does your family know that you’re a groomer or have you managed to keep that a secret?
