Two things I've learned about Trump foreign policy today.

1. For the Iran Warhawks, it not about preventing Iran from getting a nuke it's about regime change. Preventing Iran from getting the nuke is the excuse for kinetic action. Regime change is the goal.
It does not appear that Trump is in the Iran Warhawk camp but Trump has to placate the Iran Warhawk faction to some extent.
2. Listening to Steve Bannon being interviewed by Megyn Kelly, Steve states the reason why the DoD is revolting against Pete Hegseth is due to Trump's long term military strategy. That is, secure the Pacific rim, secure Panama, secure the Atlantic and secure Greenland. This "hermetically" seals the U.S. from external threats and we can begin to pull back from M.E. presence. This cuts military cost almost in half. The DoD does not want to cut but the problem the DoD faces is the current rate of spending is unsustainable. Of course being a Navy guy Steve is promoting a substantial Navy presence and a lot less of a ground presence.

When will you guys learn that Bannon is a carnival barker, a huckster.

Bannon went to jail for a cause he believed in.
You just don't like him because you don't like his opinions and political takes.

I like it, but I'd also like them to keep the Navy as large as we can afford.

Iran already has 50-100 nukes - it's a known fact. We have been hearing about Iran being weeks away from getting a nuke now for 30 fricking years. It's all bullshite./

There's a lot of hucksters right now, but Bannon is as authentic as it gets.

For the globalists expanding into new areas not currently under their control is ALWAYS the real agenda.
It’s never about the issue, it’s about the agenda and their agenda is control of the monetary systems because with that they are guaranteed to own everything else eventually.

I'm still waiting for Pence to swear in Trump in the oval office for Trump's second term. This was a matter of fact statement by Bannon that he made repeatedly.
Bannon says a lot of things, but many of them do not come to fruition.

I don't believe this. If Iran had nukes, Israel would know. And if Iran had nukes, they would already be making threats and throwing the entire Middle East in more disarray.
Also, it's not a known fact!!

He got pardoned for bilking contributors to the "Build a Wall"
campaign.
Trump pardoned him since he admires that activity

Please tell us who to listen to. Not a rhetorical question

Eh, maybe plausible. But it’s probably a lot simpler than that. Iran pisses Trump off by supplying Houthis, Hamas and Hezbollah. He’d probably rather deal with Russia and China but has to give attention to Yemen because of the Red Sea trade. It annoys the frick out of him. Regime doesn’t look like it’s realistically on the table because no moves are being made to put ground troops into Iran, which is almost a necessity for regime change. It’s possible that an air campaign with a covert operation to install a new leader is in the works, its chances of success are very low.

Nah, most of the backlash from the DOD is simply TDS. It’s a bunch of civilian policy wonks and senior service academy grads who care more about the DC cocktail party circuit than the country they “serve.”

Not only is this exactly what the founding fathers intended and even wrote into the constitution, it makes perfect sense strategy wise. The US is global trading nation and freedom of the seas is probably more important to our economic security anything else and if there’s going to be another major it’s probably going to be with China and it will be a naval conflict.

Regime change is a lot easier than you think in Iran. Get news outside the US filter. They were on the verge of an Arab spring along with the other countries until obama saved them with pallets of cash. Yes their frozen assets, but they should have stayed frozen and we would not have this problem, and biden made it worse.
The DOD, EVERYTHING is about the budget. Why do you think they have never had an external audit. Why do you think every senior senator wants on the armed services committee so they too can be a part of a trillion dollar f35 project, or some other waste. Where we send fighters to Saudi and for some reason Saudis send money to mccains foundation in Arizona? Thats certainly not a pass through kickback from arms merchants is it????
Space not the navy, space. Although I will say the following is pretty forward thinking given the electronic warfare in our mists.......

Yes, the US Navy still trains officers and some enlisted personnel in celestial navigation, including the use of sextants. This training is not as extensive as it was in the past, but it remains a crucial skill for backup navigation in case of GPS failure or jamming. The U.S. Naval Academy has reinstated celestial navigation training, and the navy considers it a valuable backup skill for ships.

Remember when you took this as gospel?

“You know what I don’t really — start your tape right now because I’m about to tell you the truth. And eff you if you can’t handle the truth. This version of Biden intellectually, analytically, is the best Biden ever. Not a close second. And I have known him for years. The Brzezinskis have known him for 50 years. If it weren’t the truth I wouldn’t say it."

Regime change in Iran is impossible without a ground invasion. I don’t care what kind of nonsense you’ve been reading or watching.

Lol
Also, We are a maritime nation and will be for at least another generation. Probably more. IF, and that’s an IF, we do have any kinetic space based weapons they are extremely limited in number. Space is for ISR and communications and will remain that way for some time.
