The University of Michigan (UM) spends more than $18 million annually to support its diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) staff, according to an analysis of public salary records by UM emeritus professor Mark Perry.

UM pays a total of $18,120,242 to support more than 142 staff members who work to promote DEI initiatives on campus during the 2022-2023 school year, according to data analyzed by Perry. The total equals the amount it would take to cover the cost of in-state tuition for 1,075 students, he told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Only 82 “diversicrats” were employed during the 2018-2019 academic year and cost the university $10.6 million. The university increased the number of staff to 126 during the 2021-2022 academic year which cost $15.6 million.

Perry reported that he could not find a UM staff position with the words “diversity,” “equity” or “inclusion” in the job title until the 2004-2005 academic year. Positions which fit the bill have increased since 2015, according to a graph Perry provided to the DCNF.

I wonder if Hugo Boss is designing their SS uniforms? That can be pretty pricey.

Good, now they can add more Whites to the athletic teams!

What the hell can 142 people do in a DEI department?
It is nothing but a huge box-checking, propaganda, look at me, effort....

WASTE OF MONEY, PERIOD!

Oh, this why the creation of new words and the meaning of existing words are also changing at an exponential rate.

All colleges now have these expensive useless staffs. But UM is a very large school so their numbers are high. It also allows colleges to show their 'professors' are not all white.
If physics, chemistry, math, engineering, etc are all white profs they can be counterbalanced by diversity staffs that have nearly no whites at all.

Unless I have a kid showing the aptitude and intelligence to do something uber professional, I’d rather them learn a trade than go to a university.

I like how they pay the white diversity and inclusion program assistant 26,500 a year and the minority diversity and inclusion program assistant 36,800 a year.

Bamarep reminder:

Just because you put on a dress and grow tits you're not a "woman."

Just because you grow a beard and sport a buzz cut you're not a "man."

You are what God and your mama made you. Period.

Y'all have a nice day.

What a crock. These states need to let these colleges and universities stand on their own with no taxpayer subsidy. Give the money back to taxpayers.

How many millions of student loan debt do you think have been created to support this foolishness?

I'm getting to a point where I think all media, major corporations, politicians and universities, and entertainment organizations are no longer driven by profit margin but are federally subsidized institutions who only have to support the Federal positions on all their agendas to maintain their subsidy level. So demand and supply are no longer the key to their success. So in essence, they don't care if they are commercially successful or not and they don't care what the American populace thinks of them.

Historically, progressives are terrible at generating wealth in capitalist societies.

So, they depend on programs like these to create and accrue wealth.

It’s similar to Ukraine money laundering schemes but on a smaller scale.

Zero personnel in 2003 up to 142 in 2022. I wonder whether the student body has grown significantly during that period.
