The previous governor literally shut businesses down without any sort of due process. I make no comment on the new governor but your comment, while not surprising, is an example of how steeped in your ideology you are. If you wanted to criticize a governor who was not a friend to business you had a chance for the past 4 years. He helped TERMINATE lots of small businesses in this state while allowing some (walmart) to remain open. I bet you loved it when he was at the country club chumming it up without a mask while directing everyone else to wear a mask (without the power to do so).

No, it's definitely not you. It is very poor in quality

Walk-Ons was mostly bought out by a private equity firm.
The appeal of Walk-Ons was having decent food and drinks delivered by attractive & attentive young women in cheerleader-esque outfits while in a great sports bar/restaurant atmosphere with (usually) plenty of seating.
Corporatizing tends to whittle away at the original formula until it becomes generically bland. The food is still decent, but the attractiveness and attentiveness level of the females waiting tables has seriously nose-dived.
For the niche it fills, you have to have the attractiveness and attentiveness factors to differentiate yourself from other bars/restaurants. This is the same path Hooters has already walked (except I never found their food to be anything but bland).

Do you have any idea what the number factors are that go into a decision like this? It’s not just about taxes or government policy. The workforce in Louisiana is substandard. It’s a PIA to fly in and out on commercial. None of your trading partners and vendors are located there, so you have to travel to see them.

I think perhaps we just need to be honest with ourselves here. If you own a company that’s looking to go national, Baton Rouge Louisiana is not even remotely close in terms of infrastructure to do so as is a hub like Atlanta, or Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Denver, or the like. It’s just not where you want to be located for that to take place. It’s the same reason why Raising Canes moved operations to Dallas, and Popeyes to Atlanta. Not only is this state not really business friendly, it also lacks the infrastructure that places like mentioned above have in spades for distribution, and that’s why you find all of the other headquarters located in places like that. It’s not a coincidence.

^^^^This right here...
And of course when a restaurant goes "chain" in a regional or national manner, the food is going to suffer...
Like with other chains, you will find some locations that are decent and others that are absolutely horrible...
Chains are the sit down version of fast food...

AtlanTA and Walk-Ons deserve one another.

They make a decent burger but if they are corporate in Atlanta I'm not going back. They are dirty birds now.

How does JBE's dick taste?
Posted on 2/9/24 at 11:32 am to boudinman
You're not mad about the literally billions in investment and tens of thousands of jobs JBE ran off over the last 8 years... the thousands of Louisianans in the oil/gas industry and chemical industries that have left the state for Texas? You're upset at Jeff Landry who's been in office 5 mins because one shitty chain restaurant left... that had decided this move probably years before Landry was sworn in?

Apparently he's too busy threatening OB/GYN doctors that they dare not perform an abortion even if it's essential to save the life of the mother. But, I don't believe their reason for moving is what they say it is. If Emeril Lagasse can headquarter his restaurants in New Orleans why do they believe they have to move their headquarters to culture-free Atlanta? Only they know the real reason. Maybe they wanted a tax abatement? Maybe they believe their upper management enjoys driving long distances over crowned freeways to get to work each morning?

True. It's not very good. Atlanta loves chain restaurants because they are bland and lack local culture and the food is, at best, bland.
Posted on 2/10/24 at 10:32 am to Mike da Tigah
Yep, all this.
Unfortunately, there is no quick or easy answer to this. Those other places are just bigger with more business resources and a larger professional class.

If John Bel Edwards was business-hostile, which is debatable,he's not in office anymore so that can't be the reason.

What the fk are they doing putting a walk ons in corporate town center or in houma or gonzalez? Them doing this has honestly ruined it for me. Its obviously all about investor greed and sleeping at the wheel, fk'em move to ATL so we don't have to deal with the chapter 11.
So Houma/gonzalez shouldn't have a walkons? Not all will be complete winners.
You must be a Biden lover.

P.S. I don't even care for Walkons. Just wanted to point out this poster is an idiot.
He should start his own restaurant chain that is less "greedy". He won't
